Advisor Asif Mahmud has urged member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to stand united against the growing global trend of Islamophobia. He made the call during the OIC Youth Capital International Program held in Marrakesh, Morocco.

Reaffirming Bangladesh's unwavering support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, Mahmud also highlighted the country’s efforts in youth empowerment. In a meeting with ICYF President Taha Ayhan, he discussed the role of youth in the July uprisings and outlined government initiatives in skills development and employment.

Advisor Mahmud extended an invitation to OIC youth to participate in the upcoming Global Youth Summit in Bangladesh this September. In response, the ICYF President expressed commitment to enhancing cooperation with Bangladesh and invited the advisor to visit Istanbul.

Following his visit to Morocco, Advisor Mahmud is scheduled to travel to Turkey to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and engage in bilateral discussions.

The US State Department has announced that in a recent telephone conversation between US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus, both sides emphasized further strengthening economic relations and enhancing security and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.

During a cordial and constructive 15-minute call, Secretary Rubio and Dr. Yunus reaffirmed their mutual commitment to deepening bilateral economic cooperation and boosting regional peace and stability. The US State Department described the dialogue as a reflection of the excellent bilateral relationship between the two nations.

On Monday at 7:30 PM, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a telephone conversation with Bangladesh's Chief Adviser, Professor Muhammad Yunus. The discussion, which lasted approximately 15 minutes, focused on strengthening and deepening bilateral relations between the two nations.

Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam confirmed the phone call, describing the conversation as sincere, cordial, and constructive. He emphasized that it reflects the strong and friendly ties shared between Bangladesh and the United States.

The key deadlock remains Hamas's demand for a permanent ceasefire versus Israel’s preference for a temporary halt that would allow future military action. U.S. officials reportedly want Israel to delay its "total destruction of Hamas" plans. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has recently shifted his priority toward rescuing Israeli hostages over Hamas's elimination.

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi has criticized the U.S. for not clearly stating its position on halting attacks while pushing for renewed diplomatic talks through mediators.

He reaffirmed Iran’s right to enrich uranium for peaceful research and rejected allegations of secret weapons development. Responding to long-standing demands from expatriates, the Election Commission will begin voter registration and Smart NID services for Bangladeshis in Malaysia. Starting Monday, the High Commission will offer these services, enabling Bangladeshis living in Malaysia to register to vote and collect their Smart NID cards. Applicants must complete a form, provide a copy of their passport, submit their online birth certificate, a color passport-sized photograph, and pay a fee of 75 ringgit.
