The investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal has requested a list of executive magistrates deployed between July 1 and August 5 to suppress the July uprising. This move is part of an inquiry into possible crimes against humanity, seeking full details on those injured or killed. Deputy Assistant Director Ahmed Nasir Uddin stated that information is being gathered from areas where alleged crimes took place, and physical visits to these locations are ongoing. The magistrates may also be called as witnesses.

Adviser Asif Mahmud wrote in a public post, “We broke free from Delhi’s chains not to submit to Rawalpindi, nor to become subjects of Washington or Moscow.” Reflecting on ongoing struggles, he added, “Protecting freedom is harder than achieving it. The street protests of July feel like collective resistance, yet sometimes I feel like abandoning everything and returning to the streets.” He emphasized that even amid such thoughts, he remains committed to guarding the people’s uprising and amplifying the voices from the July protests. He criticized the duality of being in government while being suspected by both the establishment and the street.

Leaders of the Bangladesh Branch Post Office Employees Union have demanded the nationalization of 23,000 employees working in rural post offices. “Despite years of dedicated service, many are paid only 4,000–4,500 taka,” said Abul Kalam Azad, citing gross exploitation. They also urged for a fair salary structure under grades 13 to 20 until nationalization is completed, along with implementation of eight specific demands.

Lightning strikes on Sunday afternoon killed at least 10 people across the country, including five in Nasirnagar and Akhaura (Brahmanbaria), three in Kishoreganj, and one each in Habiganj and Sherpur. The victims include a child playing outside, a farmer herding cattle, and a laborer. Two cows were also killed during the strikes.

Police have arrested 17-year-old Imran Munshi in connection with the gang rape of Lamia, the daughter of July martyr Jasim Uddin, in Dumki, Patuakhali. Lamia was assaulted while returning from her grandfather’s house on March 18 and later committed suicide on April 26. Although Imran was not initially named, further investigation and confessions from other accused under Section 164 led to his inclusion in the case. He had been on the run for weeks.

Calling the current state of the stock market “unimaginable,” the Chief Adviser has issued five urgent directives: reduce government ownership in multinational companies and bring them to the stock market; incentivize large domestic private companies to list; bring in foreign experts to reform the market within three months; take strict action against those involved in market manipulation; and reduce dependency on bank loans by encouraging businesses to raise funds through bonds and equity. “This crisis must be resolved,” the Chief Adviser asserted.

A three-member high-level advisory committee has been formed to investigate how former President Md. Abdul Hamid left the country through the airport and whether there was any negligence involved. The committee is headed by Education Adviser Prof. C. R. Abrar, with Environment Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan and Labour Adviser Brig. Gen. (Retd.) M. Sakhawat Hossain as members. Former President Hamid departed for Thailand on Wednesday night via a Thai Airways flight.

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has detained 14 individuals for illegally entering Bangladesh through the Jibannagar border in Chuadanga. The arrests were made during an operation near the paved road in the Simanto Union area. During preliminary interrogation, the detainees admitted to crossing into India six months ago in search of better job opportunities and had now returned through illegal routes.

Buddhist temples across Rangamati observed Buddha Purnima with formal religious ceremonies. The Advisory Council has approved the draft of an amended Counterterrorism Ordinance, both in principle and in final form. The amendment introduces provisions to ban individuals and organizations involved in terrorism.
