The father of martyred protester Yamin voiced strong opposition, demanding the role go to a qualified member of a martyr’s family. During the board meeting, his objections were dismissed by the foundation’s treasurer.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Palash Saha died by suicide at the RAB-7 headquarters in Chattogram. According to police, he shot himself in the head with his service weapon, reportedly due to family-related stress. As of Thursday, no official case has been filed, but authorities are preparing to register it as an unnatural death. OC Aftab Hossain confirmed the details and stated that the family is currently occupied with funeral arrangements.

Students from various madrasas have joined ongoing protests in front of the Chief Adviser’s residence at Jamuna, demanding a ban on the Awami League and justice for alleged state crimes. Groups such as NCP, Islami Chhatra Shibir, Inquilab Mancha, Anti-Fascist Coalition, and others have united under the slogan "Ban Awami League." Madrasa students were seen chanting, “Let Shapla’s spirit roar again.”

The government's media adviser has stated that the administration encourages healthy competition among newspapers. The aim is to foster a vibrant, responsible, and competitive press that serves public interest and upholds journalistic integrity.

Islamic Chhatra Shibir, Inquilab Manch, July Unity, and others have expressed solidarity with the protest in front of the Chief Adviser’s residence, demanding a ban on the Awami League. Shibir leaders vowed not to let the July movement falter. “Our goal is the final revolution,” declared their central president.

At a high-level meeting of the National Consensus Commission, Chief Adviser and Commission Chair Professor Muhammad Yunus praised political parties for their positive stance on reforms. The meeting reviewed overall progress and urged swift finalization of the next phase of dialogue with political stakeholders.

Adviser Asif Mahmud announced that the Awami League’s affiliate groups Jubo League and Swechchhasebak League are on the verge of being banned. “All formalities have been completed,” he stated. He reiterated that the July uprising is committed to politically erasing the Awami League and its affiliates.

Thousands of pilgrims erupted in applause at St. Peter’s Square as the chapel bells rang, officially ending the election process. Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdh, brother of martyr Mughdha and CEO of July Memorial Foundation, has resigned from his post to focus on higher studies. Following a board meeting chaired by Professor Muhammad Yunus, Snigdh confirmed he would continue serving as a member of the foundation’s governing body. He stated he has no intention of entering politics.

The High Court has granted bail to Shaharin Islam Tuhin, nephew of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, in a graft case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). His lawyer, Hasan Rajib Pradhan, said the court issued bail due to the pending status of his appeal. Tuhin surrendered on June 29 last year and was denied bail by the trial court. He was convicted in 2008 for tax evasion and illegal wealth accumulation, receiving a total of eight years' rigorous imprisonment.

Popular Hindi television actor Aly Goni revealed in a podcast that he faced discrimination while searching for a home due to his Muslim identity. “As a Kashmiri, I’ve never experienced bias in the entertainment industry, but I have when looking for a house,” he said. Goni shared that he and his partner Jasmine were denied rentals by several landlords who outright said, "We don't rent to Muslims." Most of these individuals were older, he added.

Political analyst Professor Ali Riaz stated that the Consensus Commission is progressing with the aim of ensuring that no individual, including the Prime Minister, can rise above the law or consolidate unchecked power. He emphasized the need for structural reforms to establish an accountable state. Sheikh Rafiqul Islam Babul, Convener of the Bhasani Janashakti Party, added that they envision a reformed and rebuilt Bangladesh through systemic change.

In connection with former President Abdul Hamid’s departure from the country, an Additional Superintendent of Immigration Police has been withdrawn for negligence. Additionally, a case investigator from Kishoreganj Sadar Police Station and an SB officer have been suspended. Hamid reportedly left the country via the airport late last night, despite an active case filed against him.

Information Adviser Mahfuz Alam stated on Facebook that legal provisions are being introduced to ensure the Awami League is held accountable as a political entity. He wrote, “The fascist League will face justice. Tribunal-2 is being formed to expedite the trials.” In a previous post, he hinted at the helplessness of student representatives and said that not all actions are government-driven—many are rooted in the establishment.

Sharif Usman Hadi of the Inqilab Mancha demanded that student advisers Mahfuz Alam and Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan resign within three days for their alleged role in Abdul Hamid’s release. He warned of mass protests against the interim government, declaring, “Either the fascist League will be banned, or the interim regime will fall.” He added that those who resist resigning would face public disgrace. Activist Tajnuva Zabeen also joined in calling for their resignation.
