Police have arrested four individuals, including Kamal Hossain alias 'Moyla Kamal', while they were allegedly preparing for a rally in Dhaka’s Mirpur area late Monday night.

The other detainees have been identified as Taijul Islam Raihan, Sanjit Kumar Mitra, and Lokman Hossain Molla.

According to Mohammad Maksudur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), the arrests were made on charges of planning an unauthorized rally and possible subversive activities. He further claimed that the individuals belong to a banned organization, referring to the group as the “prohibited Awami League.”

All four have been sent to jail following their arrest.

Note: The mention of Awami League as a "banned organization" appears to be either a clerical error or misinformation, as the Awami League is the ruling political party in Bangladesh. This point requires clarification or verification from official sources.

However, Moscow sees no indication from Israel that it is open to mediation or a peaceful resolution. Despite its strong ties with Iran, Russia continues to maintain relations with Israel, carefully balancing its diplomatic approach. During a break in the Consensus Commission meeting, BNP leader Salahuddin Ahmed told reporters that if the BNP forms the government, opposition parties will be given leadership roles in key parliamentary standing committees — based on the number of seats they hold.

These important committees include:

The Public Accounts Committee

The Privileges Committee

The Estimates Committee

The Public Undertakings Committee

Ahmed also mentioned that ongoing discussions around amending Article 69 of the Constitution have reached a consensus among all parties on two critical issues: votes of confidence and money bills. Under the proposed amendments, MPs must follow their party's stance on these two matters.

However, the BNP has proposed that MPs should not be allowed to vote independently on issues related to national security. He added that all parties have also agreed to reserve 100 parliamentary seats for women.
