Screenshots circulating online reveal that several Chhatra Dal activists are planning attacks on Rajshahi University students they describe as part of the “Bot Bahini.” The messages, exchanged in a WhatsApp group named “RU Chhatra Dal,” involve leaders like Tushar Sheikh, expelled leader Ahsan Habib, and activist Hasibul Islam. The conversations include threats to physically assault targeted students both on and off-campus. Hasibul confirmed the authenticity of the screenshots. The group accused these students of posting defamatory and false content online.

On Monday afternoon, Tarique Rahman drove his mother, Khaleda Zia, to Heathrow Airport. Family members and local BNP activists gathered to see her off. Khaleda Zia smiled while speaking to her son before departure, kissed him goodbye, and said to the well-wishers, “Please take care of Bhaiya (Tarique Rahman).” She is accompanied by her daughters-in-law, Dr. Zubaida Rahman and Syeda Shamila Rahman.

BNP leader Shairul Kabir Khan announced that party Chairperson Khaleda Zia is expected to arrive at Dhaka’s airport on Tuesday at 10:30 AM. Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, Deputy Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, broke down in tears while remembering Barrister Abdur Razzak. He described Razzak as a wise and successful man who had followed Islamic teachings since childhood. “I sincerely pray to Allah that He grants him the highest place in Jannatul Ferdous,” Taher said in an emotional tribute. Six women, including three leaders from the Nationalist Citizen Party (NCP) and three cultural figures, have issued a legal notice against Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, accusing the group of degrading women during a recent public rally. The notice, signed by Syeda Nilima Dola, Duti Aranya Chowdhury, Nila Afroze, and cultural activists Umm-e-Raihana, Umm-e-Farhana, and Camellia Sharmin Chura, condemns the public use of the term “prostitutes” to describe women who support gender reform. They assert that such language constitutes a direct attack on women’s dignity and rights and call for collective resistance against misogyny.

Islami Chhatra Shibir President Zahidul Islam has called on the government to officially declare May 5 as ‘Shapla Massacre Day,’ in remembrance of what he describes as a state-sponsored massacre of peaceful protesters in 2013. He stated that thousands gathered at Shapla Chattar to peacefully voice their 13-point demands against blasphemy, but were brutally attacked. He also accused the Awami League government of multiple massacres since 2008—including the BDR mutiny, the crackdown following Allama Sayedee’s verdict, and the most recent violence on July 24. “Justice for these state-orchestrated killings is long overdue. Without it, fascism cannot be defeated,” he added.

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued special directives regarding the return of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. Citizens have been requested to remain on sidewalks, not on the roads, from Gulshan-Banani to the airport between Tuesday morning and noon. The public is urged to use alternative routes, including roads through Dhaka Cantonment. Train services on the Dhaka–Joydevpur route are recommended as alternatives. Hajj pilgrims, international travelers, and SSC examinees have been advised to allow ample travel time. Welcoming participants will not be permitted to join Khaleda Zia’s motorcade with personal vehicles.

Zubaida Rahman is set to stay at her father’s residence, ‘Mahbub Bhaban’, in Dhanmondi upon her return to Bangladesh. Rashed Khan, a leader of Gano Adhikar Parishad, has criticized the interim government, stating that its only visible achievement is increased sympathy toward the ruling Awami League. “Their dummy MPs are getting bail, arrests are not happening, and the party itself hasn’t been banned despite allegations of genocide under international tribunal laws,” he said. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed two cases against former Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president and ex-MP Nazmul Hasan Papon and his wife. The cases involve suspicious financial transactions amounting to around Tk 800 crore and undisclosed assets worth Tk 32 crore. The ACC stated that concrete evidence has been found in both instances.

Haji Selim was brought to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court at 10:10 AM on Monday for arrest in a case. While in the courtroom, Haji Selim was seen holding a newspaper. When a police officer tried to take the newspaper from him, he screamed at the officer. After some mediation by his lawyer, he calmed down. During the hearing, the court approved the request for his arrest in one of the cases, and he was escorted to the detention center, where he again argued with the police.

Delwar Hossain Delu, the Union BNP president of Feni's Pahgachhia Union, has been suspended for forcing the mothers of two teens accused of theft to be publicly humiliated. The incident occurred when the mothers were subjected to this punishment in front of hundreds of people for allegedly stealing pigeons and chickens. The video of the incident went viral on social media.

Following an attack on Hasnat Abdullah’s vehicle in Chandna Chourasta area, police conducted an overnight operation in several locations. Hasnat, returning from an event in Salna, Gazipur, was injured when his car was attacked by a group of 4 to 5 motorbikes. The police escorted him to Dhaka under protection. So far, 54 suspects have been arrested in connection with the attack, and the operation continues.

Hefazat-e-Islam has filed two specific charges against those involved in the Shapla Square killings, including senior law enforcement officials and Imran H. Sarker. Nine individuals, including Sheikh Hasina, have been named in the case. Of these, four have been arrested in various cases, while arrest warrants have been issued for five others, including Hasina. A hearing is scheduled for May 12, and the case is currently under investigation. The chief prosecutor stated that this was one of the most significant human rights violations and crimes against humanity in Bangladesh's history, and after careful review, the tribunal has recognized this incident as a crime against humanity, ordering an investigation.
