Jamaat-e-Islami leader Mujibur Rahman has called for the establishment of Islamic governance based on the Quran to eradicate corruption and immoral practices from society.

Speaking at a public event, he said, "Justice cannot be achieved without the law of Allah. Islam is a complete way of life, but its proper practice is impossible without state-level implementation. To cleanse society of corruption, interest-based transactions, bribery, obscenity, and extortion, we must establish Quranic rule."

He urged the people to give Jamaat-e-Islami a chance to form a government at least once, saying it is essential for meaningful change. Rahman also emphasized the need to carry out judicial reforms before the next general election, expressing his party’s rejection of disputed elections like those in the past. "We demand a truly free and fair election," he added.

At an event held at Jagannath University, Jamaat leader Shafiqul Islam Masud stated that previously, students from opposition groups had to seek permission to enter the university premises or attend exams, often facing attacks by the ruling student wing, Chhatra League. However, today, student organizations including Chhatra Shibir and others share the same platform peacefully at the same university. Masud emphasized that Jagannath University will not only be a model within Bangladesh but also serve as an example of democracy and coexistence worldwide. He added that the rise of fascism in Bangladesh was instigated by journalists, who also played a crucial role in its downfall. Masud recalled a journalist questioning Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina about quota policies, to which Hasina famously replied, "If freedom fighter quotas are not given, will the children of Razakars receive them?"

Outgoing German Ambassador to Bangladesh, Achim Troster, paid a farewell courtesy visit to BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia on Friday at 8:30 PM. The meeting took place at her residence in Dhaka.

According to BNP’s media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan, several senior party leaders were present during the meeting, including BNP Standing Committee members Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan, Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, and Begum Zia’s personal secretary ABM Abdus Sattar.

JAGPA spokesperson Rashed Pradhan has called for a peaceful national election in Bangladesh, free from foreign — particularly Indian — influence. Emphasizing that there is no alternative to national elections in the effort to build a truly democratic Bangladesh, he stated, "We have managed to avoid the feared confrontation between the BNP and the government, which is a positive development."

However, Pradhan expressed surprise over the announcement of Bangladesh’s proposed election date coming from outside the country, as well as the issuance of a joint statement by the government and a political party. “These moves have undermined the credibility of the interim government,” he said.

He also raised concerns about external destabilization efforts, claiming that India is pushing Rohingya and Indian militants into Bangladesh to create unrest. He urged the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and the government to take decisive action to counter these threats.

Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor of the Interim Government, emphasized the need for a comprehensive hydrographic database and precise seabed mapping to strengthen Bangladesh’s economy and develop a sustainable maritime policy. He highlighted the Bay of Bengal’s importance for national security, economy, and environment. The Bangladesh Navy’s Hydrographic Department plays a vital role in surveying coastal areas, ensuring maritime safety, and supporting blue economy initiatives. He called for increased professionalism and dedication in the sector to fully utilize maritime resources and advance regional economic goals.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called for national unity to rebuild Bangladesh with a democratic spirit, criticizing the destruction of institutions over the past 15 years. Speaking at a cricket tournament in Thakurgaon, he emphasized the importance of sports in mental and physical development. He urged people to rise above political divisions and support talented athletes. Fakhrul also highlighted the opportunity to create a tolerant political environment and called for initiatives to host international-level sporting events in Thakurgaon.

National Consensus Party (NCP) leader Sarjis Alam has criticized the interim government for partiality in resource distribution. In a Facebook post, he stated that one of the government's key limitations is its bias — evident from the advisory council to development allocations. Many commenters echoed his concerns, raising questions about the neutrality of the current administration.

Jamaat-e-Islami leader Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher has voiced opposition to a bilateral meeting between a political party chairman and the head of a state, calling it inappropriate. Speaking on the recent London meeting, he stated that the chief advisor should have engaged with all political parties jointly. Due to perceived bias, Jamaat had boycotted the second round of dialogue and issued a statement of objection. However, Taher later said the chief advisor assured Jamaat’s Ameer of maintaining neutrality, after which Jamaat joined the Unity Commission meeting and proposed holding the presidential election through an electoral vote.

Jamaat-e-Islami leader Prof. Mia Golam Parwar claimed that if free and fair elections are held, the people will vote for candidates aligned with Islamic values. He urged political unity to ensure victory for the party’s “scale” symbol.

He accused the Awami League government of coming to power under a foreign agenda and persecuting Islamic scholars. “We must prepare now for a voting revolution in the upcoming election,” he said.

BNP Chairperson’s advisor Advocate Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal claimed that fascist collaborators are deeply embedded in the current administration, a fact he says has gained international recognition. Speaking at a youth rally in Dhaka, he warned that if the interim government fails to purge these elements, BNP will publicly release their names. Addressing interim chief advisor Dr. Yunus, he stressed BNP’s support comes with accountability. Other BNP leaders also spoke at the event organized by Aparajeyo Bangladesh near the National Press Club.

BNP senior leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi alleged that Indian policymakers are engaged in conspiracies to rehabilitate the “fascist” Awami League, which he called a fugitive political entity. Referring to a recent meeting between Dr. Yunus and Tarique Rahman in London, Rizvi said the conspiracy escalated shortly after that event.

He noted that although Bangladesh is on the path toward democracy, "the monument of freedom is yet to be completed, and conspiracies are ongoing." Rizvi criticized years of enforced disappearances and oppression and said a fair and timely election is expected.

He also accused the government of looting national resources and creating a luxurious life abroad for a few, naming Dubai, Canada, and Malaysia. Rizvi emphasized that under Tarique Rahman’s leadership, BNP stands by its grassroots activists, including veteran leader Taher Thakur from Thakurgaon.

Three members of the Bagmara Upazila Committee of the Nationalist Citizens' Party (NCP) have resigned. Hadiuzzaman Rafi, Fuad Hasan Ganim, and Rabiul Islam Rahul submitted their resignations both via Facebook and to the party's central office. Rafi claimed his name was included without consent, stating he no longer wishes to pursue politics. Ganim cited his affiliation with the BNP family and objected to being added to the committee despite expressing disinterest. Rahul stated that his focus is on business, not politics. The NCP suggested the resignations may have stemmed from social or familial pressures.

BNP leader Ishraque Hossain denied that his supporters locked the gates of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) headquarters, saying he does not believe they were responsible. He called on those in charge of city administration to reopen the gates and resume services.

Following a court verdict, the Election Commission issued a gazette officially declaring him the mayor, Ishraque stated. However, the government has refused to acknowledge the appointment, which he claimed highlights its loss of neutrality. "That’s why citizens took to the streets voluntarily," he said, adding that even DSCC officials and staff joined the movement.

He clarified that he had no personal ambition to occupy the mayor’s chair but aimed to expose the government's partiality toward a particular political party. As part of a symbolic protest, he oversaw limited service operations for a few days. “If that amounts to a crime, let the government take legal action,” he concluded.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Patron-in-Chief Imran Khan has ordered the suspension of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) provincial budget, creating a significant constitutional and administrative crisis. The budget must be passed by June 24 to avoid triggering a potential no-confidence motion against the Chief Minister or even the declaration of a financial emergency. Khan has demanded meetings with economic advisors and experts, but was only granted access to the Chief Minister. He stated that the budget cannot proceed without full consultations.
