A Jubo Dal leader, Jamal Hossain Rana, has been arrested in Mirpur for extortion. The joint forces apprehended him while he was allegedly collecting illegal tolls from vendors at the Mirpur-6 marketplace. According to reports, he was aggressively trying to seize control of the local fish market and its traders' association. When a trader refused to pay, Rana reportedly threatened him. He then allegedly attacked the traders with local weapons. Business owners have confirmed these allegations.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam has declared that no elections will take place before the national polls. He made this statement after a meeting with the Chief Adviser on Monday. At least 13 people were injured in a violent clash between two factions of the BNP over the leasing of Karitola Bazaar and the historic Poradah Mela in Bogura.
