He expressed concerns over the character and actions of the team and questioned the taste and morality of those involved, including Sheikh Hasina.

In a case regarding the death of Mohammad Mohiuddin in Mirpur Police Station during an anti-discrimination student movement, while an application was being filed to arrest former Minister Kamal Ahmed Majumdar, Kamal Ahmed raised his hands, crying, showing his handcuffs and said, ‘Is this a decoration of the Liberation War! Was this why I fought in the Liberation War!’ Later, the public prosecutor said, ‘Do not identify yourselves as freedom fighters, because of you the Liberation War has been disgraced!’ The former minister further told the court, ‘If there were the rule of law in the country, my family and I would not have been tortured.’ He claims to be innocent! In response, the public prosecutor stated that he entered politics from business for corruption. Additionally, the former minister said, ‘I have spoken in favor of the protesters!’”

Hasnat Abdullah, leader of the anti-discrimination student movement, has accused the media of being under the influence of Awami sycophants for over 15 years. In a strong statement, he predicted, “Soon, the murderers will be outside, while the revolutionaries will be behind bars.” His comments were made in response to the publication of a statement by Bulbul, president of the Liberation War Platform, a known ally of the fugitive fascist leader Hasina, in Kaler Kantho. Addressing press secretary Shafiqul Alam, Hasnat warned, “Let your so-called civility not become a noose around your neck.” In another recent post, Hasnat criticized the media for legitimizing the Awami League’s crimes and enabling the rise of fascism in the country. He also slammed those who opposed his stance, calling them out for supporting the establishment’s narrative.

On February 3, at 11 AM, Jamaat Amir visited the grave of martyr Ishtiaq Ahmad Srabon in Kalirhat, Fulgazi, Feni. Speaking at the site, he stated, “The martyrs did not sacrifice their lives to pave the way for extortion.” He called for an end to such activities and urged respect for the martyrs. The Jamaat Amir also criticized the Awami League for turning the country into “hell,” adding that it was only by divine intervention that the country was saved. During his visit to the area, he met with the family of martyr Ishtiaq and also met flood-affected victims, providing donations.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has demanded an election roadmap from the interim government, stating that reforms are an ongoing process and should not be a reason to delay the elections. He emphasized that the current political environment has been achieved through great sacrifices, and no one should be shot or obstructed from expressing independent thoughts. Rizvi also accused Sheikh Hasina of not allowing people to vote and now inciting actions from India. He urged the government to take more responsibility in curbing market syndicates and improving law and order.

The court has granted a two-day remand for Salman F. Rahman, Anisul Haque, Dipu Moni, Judge Shamsuddin, Atiqul Islam, and Golam Sarwar Pintoo, who are accused of murder in the anti-discrimination movement in Badda police station in the capital. While the police had requested a five-day remand, Magistrate GM Farhan Ishtiaq granted a two-day remand. On July 20th at 3 PM, Hafizul Shikdar, the father of an auto-rickshaw driver killed in police firing in Badda, filed a murder case against 179 individuals. These six were arrested in connection with the case on September 25th last year.

After an attack on the police by supporters of the Awami League and Chhatra League, who tried to abduct a detained individual, the police have been guarding the police station throughout the night for security. Supporters of the Awami League attacked the Khan Saheb Sheikh Mosharraf Hossain School and College in Tungipara, Gopalganj, yesterday, injuring five police officers. The police had gone there after receiving reports that Awami League activists were distributing leaflets. When one police officer got trapped, the Upazila Executive Officer went to rescue them.

In Tungipara, Gopalganj, during a month-long program of the Awami League, a worker named Safayet was arrested while distributing leaflets. Following his arrest, Awami League leaders and activists clashed with the police to free him. As a result, 8 people, including a police officer, were injured. During the incident, the enraged activists threw bricks and stones, vandalizing a police vehicle. They also detained a police officer. Upon receiving the news, the Upazila Executive Officer, Md. Moinul Haque, rescued the police officer and handed him over to the Officer-in-Charge (OC).

Abdul Wahab, the President of Suzanganj Upazila Awami League and former chairman, was snatched away from police custody by his supporters in Mathurapur village on February 2. The police had gone to arrest Wahab due to allegations against him, but his supporters blocked their efforts and freed him. The local police, unable to proceed with the arrest, returned to their station. The police confirmed that the operation to arrest Wahab will continue.

Tariq Rahman, the acting chairman of BNP, expressed concerns during a virtual participation in a rally held in South Dhaka, stating that the longer the talks on reform proposals drag on, the deeper the country will fall into crisis. He said that prolonged discussions on reforms would give room for fallen autocrats to gain power and oppress the people. He emphasized the importance of elections for the implementation of reform proposals, stating that accountability can be ensured through elections, and when an elected government has the opportunity to govern, the issues will gradually be resolved. He pledged to make the utmost effort to implement the promised reforms with the party’s leaders and workers.

At around 9:30 AM on February 2nd, a clash between two factions of the BNP occurred in the Gharua Union of Bhanga Upazila, Faridpur, over dominance, leaving 20 people injured. After a meeting at 9:00 AM, on their way back home, Anwar Munshi’s supporters attacked Karim Mollah’s supporters. Subsequently, both sides exchanged blows using local weapons. As a result, 20 people were injured. Karim Mollah accused BNP leader Anwar and Awami League leaders of torturing them. Anwar stated that people loyal to Nixon Chowdhury’s top supporter, Niru Khalifa, led by Karim Mollah, attacked them.

Information and Broadcasting Advisor Nahid Islam has stated that BNP’s allegations regarding the government’s impartiality are unjustified. He remarked that the government has prioritized the advice of political parties, making BNP’s claims of bias unreasonable. He also noted that despite the interest of many in getting involved, young people have not formed political parties to maintain trust among existing parties. He cautioned against any speculation regarding the removal of Dr. Yunus or other matters, emphasizing that national unity remains intact. He further asserted that the government could not have functioned without the cooperation of political parties and hopes that this collaboration will continue in the future.
