The footage actually dates back to June 30, 2023, when 13 fire service units brought the blaze under control within an hour. Officials, including then-duty officer Khaleda Yasmin, confirmed that the fire was swiftly contained, though details of casualties and losses were uncertain at the time. Recently, social media users have been spreading the old video, matching it with minor fire incidents to mislead the public. Local residents claim certain political groups are using the footage to spread propaganda and stir instability. Both Sadarghat police and fire service officials confirmed that no such fire occurred recently and urged citizens to verify information before sharing.

In an official statement, the ministry clarified that the voice in the 25-second clip is artificially manipulated and not the adviser’s. The audio, shared via several fake Facebook accounts, including one named “Ismail Chowdhury Samrat,” allegedly instructs an unnamed police officer regarding Nur.
The ministry condemned the creation and dissemination of such misleading content, describing it as illegal, and pledged strict legal action against those responsible.

However, a report by Anadolu’s Fact-Check Line confirmed that the crashed aircraft was not maintained by Turkish Technic. The rumor spread using misleading photos. Turkish Technic only maintains Air India’s Boeing 777 aircraft, which are currently operating safely. The actual cause of the crash is still under investigation, and so far, there is no evidence of any maintenance-related fault.

Other categories included 103 cases of national issues, 12 international, 36 religious, 3 related to entertainment and literature, 3 educational, 12 cases of fraud, and 16 cases related to sports. Facebook was the primary platform for spreading misinformation, with 273 instances.
