Russia’s air defense shot down a modern Ukrainian Su-27 fighter jet over the Zaporizhzhia region. The Russian Ministry of Defense also reported destroying multiple Ukrainian drones, guided bombs, and rockets from the US-made HIMARS system. Meanwhile, Ukraine repelled a Russian cruise missile attack and downed 31 Russian drones. Over 70% of Zaporizhzhia remains under Russian control. Former US President Donald Trump plans to meet Vladimir Putin on August 15 to discuss a possible peace deal, though Ukraine’s President Zelensky insists no territory will be ceded.

The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that in the past 24 hours, 39 bodies were brought to hospitals, and 491 people were injured, bringing the total number of people wounded since the start of Israeli aggression to 152,850. Many bodies remain under rubble or in streets, inaccessible to rescuers. Israeli Strikes Kill 72 Palestinians in Gaza in 24 Hours

Yemeni Houthis have launched a hypersonic ballistic missile targeting Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport, warning Arab countries involved in trade with Israel. Senior Houthi leader Hijam Al-Asad threatened all shipping companies cooperating with Israel, declaring upcoming naval operations will target them regardless of their national affiliations. The Houthis condemned Arab and Muslim governments for participating in Gaza’s blockade. Their spokesperson, Yahya Sari, affirmed continued military support for Gaza and Palestine until Israeli aggression ends and the blockade is lifted.

Hamas has expressed willingness to negotiate a comprehensive deal involving the release of all Israeli prisoners in exchange for a ceasefire and Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. The group emphasized that capturing Gaza City would come at a high cost and warned against surrender. This statement followed Israel’s approval of plans to fully control Gaza. The UN urged Israel to abandon the plan, citing international law and the need for a two-state solution, warning that escalation could lead to severe humanitarian consequences.

Hamas has condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s security cabinet approval of a plan to take control of Gaza city, calling it a “new war crime.” The group warned Israel will face severe consequences for forcibly displacing Gaza residents. The plan includes Israeli forces taking control and providing humanitarian aid outside combat zones, sparking global criticism. Countries like China, Turkey, the UK, and the UN have expressed concern, while Germany announced it will halt all military equipment exports to Israel under current circumstances.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s plan for a new Gaza military operation has sparked internal and international concern. The proposal to take control of Gaza City could lead to prolonged conflict, displacement of 800,000 residents, and increased Palestinian casualties. Despite warnings from military chiefs and hostages’ families, Netanyahu remains firm. Critics, including Britain’s Prime Minister, call for reconsideration. The ongoing conflict has already killed over 61,000 Palestinians and taken nearly 250 hostages, intensifying calls for a peaceful resolution.

Alon Liel, former Director General of Israel’s Foreign Ministry, warns that Israel’s plan to seize Gaza City will intensify its international isolation. In an Al Jazeera interview, he noted many countries recognize Palestine while Israel moves in the opposite direction by ignoring global calls to end the conflict. Satellite images indicate Israel is amassing troops for a possible large-scale ground offensive near Gaza. Liel urges Israel’s allies to take a firm stand, stressing that international consensus could influence U.S. policy.

Gaza is devastated by relentless Israeli attacks, while the Arab world remains largely silent. Once known for slogans of unity and resistance, Arab leaders now prioritize Western alliances and oil deals over Palestinian lives. This submissive stance echoes a century-old legacy of British colonial manipulation, now upheld by U.S. dominance. According to historian Usama Makdisi, today’s Arab regimes are modern extensions of colonial-era control, designed to suppress genuine independence. Their inaction and complicity deepen the suffering in Gaza and betray the cause of Palestine.

A new report by Conflict Armament Research reveals Myanmar’s military junta is using drones equipped with European-developed, Chinese-made anti-jamming technology to target rebel groups and civilians. The drones, found in conflict zones like Kayah State, contain advanced navigation systems. Rights groups are calling for stronger, more consistent EU sanctions, saying current restrictions are insufficient. Despite embargoes since the 1990s, components still reach Myanmar via indirect routes. No unethical conduct was found from suppliers, but calls grow to cut off the junta's access to money, weapons, and fuel.

Israel’s security cabinet has approved a comprehensive plan to fully occupy the Gaza Strip, aligning with Prime Minister Netanyahu’s strategy to defeat Hamas. The plan includes the disarmament of Hamas, full Israeli security control over Gaza, release of remaining hostages, and the establishment of an alternative civilian government in Gaza. While most ministers support the plan, IDF’s chief reportedly warned it could lead to a humanitarian disaster and endanger hostages. Gaza City and surrounding areas remain partially under Hamas control.

On Thursday, Israeli drone attacks in eastern Lebanon killed at least six people and injured ten others, according to Lebanese authorities.

A strike on a vehicle on the Al-Masnaa International Road resulted in five deaths, while a separate drone attack in Kafar Dan claimed the life of a civilian. Overnight strikes in Deir Siryan in Marjayoun District killed a Syrian national and injured two more.

The Israeli military claims the strikes targeted Hezbollah infrastructure, including garages, bulldozers, and residential-adjacent sites near the Litani River.
