Israel has accused Iran of launching a ballistic missile just minutes after a ceasefire was announced. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that air raid sirens went off in the north shortly after Prime Minister Netanyahu accepted a U.S.-brokered ceasefire proposal from Donald Trump.
The IDF claimed the missile was intercepted mid-air, and no casualties or damage were reported.
Iran Accused of Missile Launch Minutes After Ceasefire Announcement
Iranian media has confirmed the assassination of Mohammad Reza Seddiqi Saber, a high-ranking official linked to the country’s nuclear program.
He was reportedly targeted in an Israeli strike late last night in Astaneh Ashrafieh, Gilan Province.
This comes two months after the U.S. Treasury Department sanctioned Saber for alleged involvement in nuclear weapons proliferation.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported that Iran launched missiles toward Israeli territory just moments after former U.S. President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel.
In a statement on Tuesday, the IDF confirmed:
“A short while ago, missile launches from Iran toward Israeli territory were detected. Air defense systems have been activated in response, and residents have been instructed to remain in protected areas.”
Earlier, Trump had declared, “Both Iran and Israel have agreed to a full and comprehensive ceasefire.”

Several military bases in Iraq, including Imam Ali, Balad, and Taji, have come under attack amid the Iran-Israel conflict. There have also been reports of drone strikes near Baghdad International Airport. Al Jazeera reported these developments, although the perpetrators remain unidentified. Iranian media outlet Tasnim reported hearing two large explosions inside Balad base, which was once the second-largest U.S. military installation in Iraq.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Iran has made it clear Israel initiated the conflict and Tehran has no interest in continuing the war. “So far, no agreement on ceasefire has been finalized. But if Israel stops its illegal attacks on the Iranian people by the set deadline of 4 AM, Iran will have no intention of continuing the war,” he said. However, it’s noteworthy that the declared deadline has already passed.
Iran Says It Will Stop Military Action If Israel Ends Aggression by Deadline: Araghchi
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stated on social media that Iran has not attacked anyone but will not tolerate aggression from others under any circumstances. He wrote, “We will never bow to aggression—this is the logic of the Iranian nation.” Earlier, Iran’s IRGC reportedly launched missile strikes at the U.S. military base Al-Udeid in Qatar, along with reports of attacks on another U.S. base in Iraq.
Iran Will Not Tolerate Aggression in Any Situation: Ayatollah Khamenei
According to The New York Times, citing three Iranian officials, Tehran had warned Qatari authorities ahead of the missile strike on Al-Udeid Air Base to minimize casualties. Iran aimed to retaliate for the U.S. strike on its nuclear facilities while also preventing escalation. This mirrors a similar approach taken in 2020 when Iran informed Iraq ahead of retaliatory strikes following the killing of General Qassem Soleimani. Despite the warning, Qatar strongly condemned the attack as a blatant breach of its sovereignty.

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council clarified that the missile strike on Al-Udeid Air Base was not directed against Qatar. In a statement, it emphasized that the attack was carried out away from civilian areas and posed no threat to the Qatari people. Iran reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining warm and historic relations with Qatar. Notably, Qatar has still denounced the incident as a violation of its sovereignty and the UN Charter.

Amid rising tensions, Iran has warned that attacks on American military bases in the Middle East cannot be ruled out. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Education, Saeed Khatibzadeh, said Tehran will determine the timing, nature, and scale of any retaliatory response to U.S. actions against its nuclear facilities.
General Abdolrahim Mousavi, Iran's newly appointed Armed Forces Chief, declared that Iran is prepared to take decisive action against both the United States and its “illegitimate and aggressive offspring,” Israel. “The hands of Islam’s warriors are now free to take any necessary steps,” he stated, signaling a significant escalation in rhetoric.

In response to U.S. attacks on its nuclear facilities, Iran has launched missile strikes targeting American military bases located in Qatar and Iraq, according to Al Jazeera. Explosions were reportedly heard in the skies over Doha. One of the key targets was Al-Udeid Air Base, the main hub for U.S. air operations in the Middle East. Reports also indicate a missile strike on another U.S. base in Iraq. However, no official confirmation has been issued by any government at this time.

US intelligence warns that Iran may retaliate against American troops stationed in the Middle East within the next one to two days, despite ongoing diplomatic efforts. This follows US airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear sites last Saturday. Security measures for approximately 40,000 US troops in the region have been heightened amid fears of possible Iranian counterattacks. Officials remain hopeful for a peaceful resolution but are preparing for a potential escalation.
The Israeli military has urged civilians in Tehran to stay away from military targets, including weapons manufacturing centers, military headquarters, and security institutions. In a Persian-language statement, Israel announced it will continue attacks on these targets in the coming days. The warning emphasizes the importance of civilians maintaining a safe distance to avoid harm, as the conflict intensifies within the Iranian capital. This announcement highlights escalating tensions and ongoing military operations in the region.
Rising tensions in the Strait of Hormuz have sparked concerns that Iran may resume a ‘Tanker War’ following U.S. airstrikes on key nuclear sites. The strait, a crucial route for global oil and gas, is seeing increased Iranian military activity, though no final decision to close it has been made. Analysts warn a blockade could trigger a global energy crisis and hurt Iran’s economy. The situation remains volatile as Iran weighs its options amid Western pressure and the threat of economic consequences.
Qatar has temporarily closed its airspace, prompting both the United States and the United Kingdom to advise their citizens in the country to remain indoors. The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the decision as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of its citizens, residents, and tourists. While specific reasons behind the closure have not been disclosed, the move is seen as part of heightened security protocols. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely and further updates are expected from official sources.
