BNP leader Aminul Haque emphasized that his party stands for the country’s underprivileged population. Describing the BNP as a party of the people, he said they are committed to humanitarian efforts. During a recent event, Haque distributed cash and pedal rickshaws to five affected auto-rickshaw drivers, and financial aid to a person with disabilities. Criticizing recent actions by DNCC against unauthorized rickshaws, he said, “It’s inhumane to take away livelihoods without offering alternatives. Had the government provided other employment options, these workers would have naturally moved away from such occupations.”

Jamaat-e-Islami's Acting Secretary General ATM Masum has called on the government to engage in dialogue with Jagannath University’s students and faculty to resolve ongoing protests. He acknowledged their longstanding grievances, particularly regarding housing and other essential needs. “No past government has addressed these issues, which has forced students and teachers to take to the streets,” he said. Masum urged the authorities to resolve the matter immediately through discussions.

Angry student protesters and members of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement attacked ‘Sundor Mahal,’ the Mymensingh residence of former opposition leader Begum Roushan Ershad. Chanting slogans, they declared the property a ‘Traitor's Den.’ After political changes post-August 5, the property had reportedly been rented to a restaurant named 'Kutumbari,' which began construction at the site. Protesters claim the symbolic value of the house made it a target.

BNP leader Parvez Mallick has urged supporters to put aside internal conflicts and unite behind the party’s ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ electoral symbol. Reflecting on his long years in exile and his commitment to the neglected regions of his constituency, he expressed his desire to serve the people till his last breath. “I want to work as a servant of the people and dedicate my life to their welfare,” he said.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has questioned the motives behind the recent murder of Chhatra Dal leader Samya. "Why would three homeless individuals kill him?" he asked. Rizvi suggested the murder might be linked to Samya's recent Facebook post supporting the national anthem, in opposition to a protest at Shahbagh. "Those who stand for the country, its independence, and against aggression are being targeted," he said. Rizvi also criticized the university’s Vice-Chancellor for allegedly disrespecting Chhatra Dal leaders who had sought his help.

Sarjis Alam has criticized the delay in addressing the legitimate demands of Jagannath University (JnU) students. "Why is there such reluctance to act?" he asked in a statement. Highlighting the lack of residential halls, especially for female students, Sarjis questioned why spaces occupied by Awami League-affiliated groups around the campus haven't been reclaimed. He urged the authorities to prioritize the construction of a permanent campus and expedite its approval by ECNEC. "Let Jagannath University function as a real university, not in name only," he added.

Gana Odhikar Parishad leader Rashed Khan has accused adviser Mahfuz Alam of orchestrating the division within the national unity forged during the recent mass uprising. “We condemned the bottle attack on Mahfuz Alam. But have you heard the leaked audio? It reflects his mindset. Under his directive, attacks were carried out on Jagannath University (JnU) teachers and female students,” Rashed said.

He further criticized the selective outrage: “You’re only focused on the bottle incident, while ignoring the violence against students and teachers. If you have integrity, condemn both.” Rashed concluded, “This proves that the assaults were carried out under the instructions of such advisers.”

It is worth noting that Mahfuz Alam has issued an apology for the comments in his leaked audio.

BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas has claimed that the government dreads the idea of elections because they know BNP would win. "Even mentioning the word 'election' seems like a sin now," he said at a rally. He also alleged that Tk 900 billion has been laundered from the country in the last eight months. "BNP is not in power—so who is extorting money and smuggling funds abroad? It’s the ruling party people," Abbas stated. He cautioned BNP supporters against assuming the party is already enjoying good times. "Our Acting Chairman hasn’t even returned to the country yet," he added.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has accused the Awami League of betraying national interests by allowing India to operate the Farakka Barrage. Speaking on the 49th anniversary of Maulana Bhashani's historic long march towards Farakka, Fakhrul said the protest aimed to ensure Bangladesh's rightful share of Ganges river water. "Back then, the Awami League government ignored public sentiment and allowed India to start test operations at the barrage, which has now turned into a death trap for Bangladesh," he said. Fakhrul added that unilateral water withdrawal from 54 transboundary rivers and the construction of multiple dams have turned the northwest region of the country into a near-desert.

Jamaat-e-Islami’s student wing leader Zahidul Islam has called for responsible use of social media, especially Facebook. “Unrestrained use is doing more harm than good,” he wrote, citing Facebook addiction among youth as a growing concern. He noted that the political unrest since July has given rise to a new trend of ‘Facebook politics,’ marked by toxic personal attacks against opposing views. Zahidul urged users to reflect the mission of a believer’s life through their online presence, turning platforms like Facebook into tools for truth and religious outreach.

The student wing of the BNP, Chhatra Dal, has demanded the resignation of Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan and Proctor Professor Saifuddin Ahmed for their alleged failure to ensure safety on campus following the murder of Shahriar Alam Samyo. In protest, Chhatra Dal leaders and activists gathered in front of the Vice-Chancellor’s residence, wearing black badges. The demonstration included participation from Chhatra Dal units of Dhaka College, Eden College, Titumir College, Government Bangla College, Begum Badrunnesa Women’s College, and Dhaka Metropolitan Chhatra Dal.

Supporters of Ishraque Hossain have blocked the main gates of Dhaka South City Corporation for the second consecutive day, demanding that he be sworn in as mayor. Civil servants and citizens seeking services have been left stranded. Protesters allege deliberate delays in swearing him in despite a court verdict and official gazette. “We will continue our sit-in until the mayoral responsibilities are handed over,” they said.

NCP leader Hasnat Abdullah criticized the treatment of Adviser Mahfuz Alam, stating, “As a government representative, Mahfuz went to resolve the issue and was physically assaulted—this is unacceptable.” He warned that such aggressive actions undermine the legitimacy of democratic movements. Hasnat added, “I don’t know if Mahfuz Alam will pursue legal action, but the student leadership should issue a public apology and ensure such behavior doesn’t repeat.” He also questioned the government’s approach, saying, “It’s suspicious that ministries are pushing student advisers forward while avoiding responsibility. Despite repeated assurances to Jagannath University students, no concrete steps have been taken.”

BNP leader Dr. Zahid Hossain stated that although many speak of reforms, history shows that BNP is the true reformist party. He credited the late President Ziaur Rahman for transitioning Bangladesh from one-party BAKSAL rule to multi-party democracy, and for initiating economic reforms. He also highlighted Begum Khaleda Zia’s shift from a presidential to a parliamentary system as a major reform. Zahid emphasized BNP’s contribution to women’s empowerment and said it is a party that never abandons its people. Despite numerous temptations and opportunities, its leadership chose to remain in Bangladesh through all adversities. He urged the government to allow citizens to exercise their democratic rights.

BNP leader Zainul Abdin Farroque asserted that the martyrs of the July movement had one goal—to restore democracy through elections. He accused Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of suppressing democratic voices for the past 16 years. Farroque called for a clear electoral roadmap and reaffirmed BNP’s commitment to voting rights, not power. He also demanded justice for the police crackdowns in July and criticized the ruling party for following in the footsteps of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s one-party rule.
