The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed two cases against former Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president and ex-MP Nazmul Hasan Papon and his wife. The cases involve suspicious financial transactions amounting to around Tk 800 crore and undisclosed assets worth Tk 32 crore. The ACC stated that concrete evidence has been found in both instances.

Haji Selim was brought to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court at 10:10 AM on Monday for arrest in a case. While in the courtroom, Haji Selim was seen holding a newspaper. When a police officer tried to take the newspaper from him, he screamed at the officer. After some mediation by his lawyer, he calmed down. During the hearing, the court approved the request for his arrest in one of the cases, and he was escorted to the detention center, where he again argued with the police.

Delwar Hossain Delu, the Union BNP president of Feni's Pahgachhia Union, has been suspended for forcing the mothers of two teens accused of theft to be publicly humiliated. The incident occurred when the mothers were subjected to this punishment in front of hundreds of people for allegedly stealing pigeons and chickens. The video of the incident went viral on social media.

Following an attack on Hasnat Abdullah’s vehicle in Chandna Chourasta area, police conducted an overnight operation in several locations. Hasnat, returning from an event in Salna, Gazipur, was injured when his car was attacked by a group of 4 to 5 motorbikes. The police escorted him to Dhaka under protection. So far, 54 suspects have been arrested in connection with the attack, and the operation continues.

Hefazat-e-Islam has filed two specific charges against those involved in the Shapla Square killings, including senior law enforcement officials and Imran H. Sarker. Nine individuals, including Sheikh Hasina, have been named in the case. Of these, four have been arrested in various cases, while arrest warrants have been issued for five others, including Hasina. A hearing is scheduled for May 12, and the case is currently under investigation. The chief prosecutor stated that this was one of the most significant human rights violations and crimes against humanity in Bangladesh's history, and after careful review, the tribunal has recognized this incident as a crime against humanity, ordering an investigation.

Mohammad Adnan Saif, a student of the Physics Department and a member of the Chhatra League at Jahangirnagar University, who was temporarily expelled due to accusations related to the July attack, attended the university's exams. Following the incident, 259 students were temporarily expelled by the authorities. Among the expelled students from the Physics Department, Adnan Saif’s name appeared in the eighth position. His participation in the exam has sparked outrage among students. Professor Salauddin commented, “I am not sure whether Saif attended the exam. However, this morning, he and a few classmates came to me. He claimed he was not involved in the attack but participated in the anti-discrimination movement. He provided some photos and a written application, which I have sent to the Vice-Chancellor.”

Indian opposition parties have accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of orchestrating the Pahalgam attack as a 'false flag operation' to gain political advantage ahead of the upcoming Bihar elections. In Barisal's Pajravanga village, members of the Taltali Farmers' Association helped a widowed farmer harvest her rice. Unable to afford workers and harvesters, Asma Begum was struggling as her rice crops were rotting in the field. The farmer’s husband works in Dhaka, and the association stepped in to help on Sunday afternoon by cutting and gathering the rice free of charge.

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has launched a public investigation against former NCP member Salahuddin Tanveer following allegations of commission-based corruption. The investigation comes after protests from the Bangladesh Youth Rights Council regarding the corruption of Tanveer and two former secretaries. Tanveer is accused of exploiting his position to gain access to government facilities and engage in "tender business," amassing millions in illegal gains.

BNP leader Mirza Abbas stated that Bangladesh does not seek aid from India but demands its rightful share of water resources. He stressed that water should never be used as a weapon, condemning India’s use of water as a tool of warfare. Abbas mentioned that Bangladesh has access to various ports in India, like Mongla and Chittagong, and now is the time to demand water from the Teesta and Farakka rivers.

The AB Party expressed its condolences over the death of Barrister Abdul Razzak, a senior Supreme Court lawyer and founding principal adviser of the party. Razzak, who had been involved in many significant legal cases since the 1980s, was known for his clear stance on law and justice. Rashed Khan, leader of the Gono Adhikar Porishod, has filed a lawsuit over the 2018 attack on the Dhaka University Vice Chancellor's residence, naming 13 individuals, including former Vice Chancellor Akhtaruzzaman. Rashed alleges that on April 9, 2018, a group of youth wearing 'Dhaka College Chhatra League' shirts broke into the residence, vandalized it, and set it on fire. He further stated that he had been arrested and tortured during the protests against Sheikh Hasina on July 1st and the attack on the VC's residence on July 8th, prompting him to file this case.

Nasir Uddin Nasir, General Secretary of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, condemned the terrorist attack on Hasnat Abdullah. He criticized the interim government's failure to bring the fascists to justice, exposing the frontline fighters of the July-August uprisings to risks. He also noted that focusing solely on personal political campaigns has deprived the masses of a clear post-uprising political direction. Nasir argued that the primary goal of political movements should be to uphold the spirit of the mass uprisings, not personal political ambitions.

In protest of the attack on Hasnat Abdullah in Gazipur on Sunday evening, the NCP has taken to the streets in Dhaka. The party claims that the day before the attack, several student league leaders and activists had threatened Hasnat on Facebook. They assert that the banned fascist student organization, the Bangladesh Chhatra League, is involved in the attack. "In the past 9 months, there have been 36 attacks on individuals and their families involved in the student uprisings, resulting in 89 injuries and one martyrdom. Impunity is to blame," the NCP stated. Protests were held in several cities, including Dhaka, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Rajshahi, Barisal, Kishoreganj, Faridpur, and Rangpur.
