Sharmin Ahmad, daughter of Tajuddin Ahmad, claimed that Sheikh Mujibur Rahman fled on March 25, 1971, leaving his party members in danger, just as Sheikh Hasina has done. She alleged that Mujib had instructed Tajuddin to "sleep peacefully, as a strike had been called for the day after tomorrow," despite knowing about the impending crackdown. According to her, Mujib had full knowledge of the events but failed to give clear directives or declare independence before his departure.

The ‘White Panel’ of Dhaka University (DU) teachers has demanded the arrest of Professor Zeenat Huda.
In a statement, they accused her of siding against students and the public during the 2024 mass uprising, expressing unconditional support for the fascist Hasina government, and endorsing state-led violence. “Despite being rejected by the DU Teachers’ Association, she continues to misuse the association’s name to make statements on various issues,” the statement read.
Condemning her actions, they added, “For inciting violence, making derogatory remarks about students, opposing the mass uprising, and visiting Ganobhaban as a representative of the teachers’ association to support Sheikh Hasina’s atrocities, we strongly demand her immediate arrest and trial.”

On Sunday afternoon, BNP submitted its official stance in writing to the National Consensus Commission. The party objected to the commission’s proposal, which equated the events of 1971 with those of 2024, calling it inappropriate.
BNP leader Salahuddin Ahmed stated that the party supports reverting to the pre-15th amendment constitutional framework. He also emphasized that determining electoral boundaries is the sole constitutional authority of the Election Commission. Opposing the idea of making the EC accountable to a parliamentary committee, he added, “If the National ID system is handed over to a separate entity, the Election Commission will repeatedly have to depend on other institutions.”

“For five years, from 2019 to 2023, I maintained the same look for this role. I didn’t dye my hair, kept it black, and stayed within a specific weight range,” she said. Nusrat further added, “When a project is offered at the government level, it’s difficult to refuse, even if it’s not something you personally prefer.”
She also revealed that she was in Canada during the uprising and acknowledged that “a mistake is always a mistake.” Reflecting on that period, she said, “At that time, I made posts in support of the students.”

Sargis Alam has refuted claims that General Wakar-uz-Zaman pressured for the rehabilitation of the Awami League. He contradicted a Facebook post by Hasnat Abdullah, clarifying that the army chief merely expressed his perspective rather than making a direct proposal. Sargis admitted that the general stated, "You people lack wisdom and experience. We have been in this service for at least 40 years," but emphasized that it was not in a threatening tone.
Sarjis does not see the Army Chief’s proposal for a refined Awami League as pressure, considers it a ‘direct expression of opinion.’
