AB Party Chairman Mojibur Rahman Manju has stated that the interim government will not retreat without the desired reforms, judicial measures, and a fair election. He accused the government of trying to appease both BNP and student movements, weakening its own position. Manju warned that if the government fails to achieve its goals, all involved will face severe consequences in the future. He also emphasized the importance of listening to Dr. Yunus, calling him a fellow comrade. According to Manju, Yunus has recently shown willingness to align with their vision, suggesting elections could take place in December with minimal reforms or in June next year with more extensive reforms.

Speaking at a discussion at A.S. Rahat Ali High School in Patiya, Colonel Oli Ahmad, Bir Bikram, criticized the interim government for not taking action against those involved in electoral fraud and corruption during the 2018 elections. He called for their removal, urging citizens to “save the country.” He also emphasized his role in deciding Bangladesh’s independence alongside Ziaur Rahman, stating that protecting this freedom is now the people’s responsibility. He claimed that discussions on social justice today stem from seeds sown 18 years ago.

BNP leader Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain has alleged that a conspiracy is being orchestrated to manipulate the upcoming elections.

“Delays are being used as an excuse to derail the electoral process,” he claimed, accusing the Sheikh Hasina government of destroying the country over the past 15 years.

He asserted that it is the responsibility of an elected government to repair the damage, adding, “An interim government should hand over power to a government chosen by the people’s vote.”

Mosharraf also called for an immediate announcement of the national election date, criticizing the lack of a clear roadmap from the interim government even after seven months.

Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman has stated that those who once refused to recognize Jamaat leaders and activists as citizens of Bangladesh have now left the country themselves. He asserted that Jamaat does not want the Awami League to return to power and urged for the release of all political prisoners, including former Jamaat leader ATM Azharul Islam. Rahman further emphasized the need to establish Islamic law in Bangladesh, lamenting the country’s failure to ensure the safety of even an 8-year-old child.

In a massive financial fraud case in Madarganj, Jamalpur, nearly 35,000 depositors lost Tk 700 crore in a cooperative society scam. The organization lured members in with promises of high interest rates before misappropriating their savings. Although six cases have been filed, key perpetrators remain at large. Allegations suggest that the fraudulent cooperative was operated under the protection of Awami League MP Mirza Azam. Despite public outrage, the local administration has not taken effective steps to recover the victims’ funds. Reports indicate that BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami leaders were also involved in the scam and are currently in hiding.

Former minister Dr. Moin Khan has declared that he does not engage in politics for power, positions, or ministerial roles, but rather for the welfare of the people. He emphasized that the country is passing each day without democracy, where the people have no representation. He further asserted that no government, police force, or public administration can function effectively without public support. He urged for collective efforts to restore a democratic order and called for a cultural shift in politics, promoting tolerance and mutual respect.

Political thinker Farhad Mazhar has criticized BNP’s rush for elections, stating that many of the party’s leaders have not learned from history and are on the path to political failure. He remarked that Khaleda Zia’s uncompromising stance led to the success of the mass uprising but also resulted in counter-revolution due to the persistence of a fascist constitution. He pointed out that one of BNP’s biggest mistakes was taking an oath under Chuppu. He further warned that BNP’s attempt to become a centrist political party is another strategic error. According to him, young political groups must oppose all forms of fascism—not just Bengali nationalism but also religious fascism and other authoritarian ideologies.

ADC Mahmudah Begum of the Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) reported that 30 individuals have been arrested in the past 24 hours during “Operation Devil Hunt” for allegedly attempting to destabilize the city. The arrestees face multiple charges, including attacks on student protesters during the mass uprising and violations under the Special Powers Act, Anti-Terrorism Act, and Penal Code. Locals in Shariatpur have expressed outrage after noticing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s name printed on rice sacks distributed under the Vulnerable Group Feeding (VGF) program for fishermen. The rice distribution covered 15,446 registered fishermen across different unions, with each receiving an allocation of 80 kg for two months. Sixty rounds of bullets were discovered during the excavation of a pond owned by Sardarul Amin Talukder Kalam, the President of the Union Awami League in Dobaura, Mymensingh, on Saturday afternoon. Locals reported that workers came across the bullets while digging the pond. As news spread, curious residents gathered at the site. Minhajul Abedin Mithu, the former General Secretary of the now-banned Taltoli unit of the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), was handed over to the police by leaders and activists of Chhatra Dal on Saturday at around 2 PM in Barguna’s Taltoli. Officer-in-Charge Shah Jalal confirmed the arrest, stating, “Some Chhatra Dal activists detained Mithu and handed him over to us. BNP Chairperson’s Adviser Tahsina Rushdir Luna has stated that disciplinary action will be taken against any BNP member who issues threats. “During the tenure of the fascist government, the media was unable to operate freely because they knew that without suppressing the press, their corruption would be exposed. Now is the time for journalists to publish reports on every corrupt individual. If any BNP member threatens the media for exposing corruption, let us know—we will take organizational action against them,” Luna said.

Anwar Hossain Noyon, a leader of Jubo Dal in Kabirhat Upazila, has been accused of openly demanding extortion money. A leaked phone conversation circulating on Facebook reveals him allegedly telling a Ministry of Law employee, “If you want to stay safe, send 100,000 Taka via Bkash immediately.” In the viral audio, Noyon is heard accusing the official, Sakhayet Ullah, of supporting the ruling Awami League’s boat symbol in the last Union Parishad elections despite being appointed by BNP leader Barrister Moudud Ahmed. He allegedly warns, “You must pay me by Tuesday. If not, you can’t even imagine what will happen next.”
