BNP leader Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain has called for the immediate declaration and implementation of a roadmap for national reforms, justice, and elections. “The sooner it's done, the faster people’s rights will be restored,” he said. He warned that failure to act will not be forgiven by the public. He also criticized the entrenched influence of pro-autocracy forces within the administration and demanded accountability in the disappearances of political figures Ilias Ali and Chowdhury Alam.

Islami Chhatra Shibir leader SM Farhad accused certain vested groups of conspiring to delay the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) elections to serve hidden agendas. He warned that if the university administration cooperates with such forces, students will launch another “July Movement” against them. Meanwhile, the university has reported progress in election preparations, currently at phase seven, which includes forming the election commission. Three faculty members have been preliminarily selected.

Following a meeting with the Chief Adviser, NCP convener Nahid Islam insisted that the July Charter must be finalized and published within 30 working days, before August 5. He said an electoral roadmap should only be announced after the charter is in effect. He also called for a restructured Election Commission to ensure free and fair polls.

BNP leader Salahuddin Ahmed asserted that national elections can be held by December and necessary reforms completed within a month. He said key reforms, especially those related to the electoral process, can be implemented through executive orders, ordinances, or office directives without amending the Constitution. He emphasized that consensus-driven reforms should be documented in a political charter, which would be reflected in BNP’s election manifesto and serve as a public commitment.

Following a meeting with the Consensus Commission, Jamaat-e-Islami leader Dr. Syed Abdullah Taher stated that all political parties reiterated their trust in Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus. “We expect a credible election under his leadership,” he said. Taher urged that election dates be set between December and April, excluding the weather-challenged months of May and June. He emphasized the importance of allowing expatriates to vote and called for immediate electoral reforms, aiming for a unified “July Charter” to be signed by all parties by July.

BNP leader Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury criticized the proposed budget for FY 2025-26, calling it a continuation of the previous government's approach. He argued that the budget should have been aligned with actual revenue income, which it fails to do. “The budget size should have been more conservative,” he said, adding that its implementation will be difficult for the current government. BNP will officially respond to the budget on June 4. Khasru emphasized that budgets based on real revenue allow for more liquidity in the private sector, boost investment, reduce interest rates, and lower dependency on foreign loans.

Local leaders of the BNP and Anti-Discrimination Student Movement have expressed regret over the recent attack, vandalism, and arson at the residence of Jatiya Party leader GM Quader. Earlier, they were summoned to a military camp at Rangpur Stadium by Brigadier General Humayun Kaiyum of the 72nd Infantry Brigade. Four accused individuals from both groups appeared at the camp and pledged not to engage in further acts that could disrupt law and order. Authorities warned of strict action to maintain peace in Rangpur.

BNP leader Zainul Abdin Farroque questioned the interim government's delay in holding national elections, arguing that Nobel laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus could conduct elections within three months. “Why is it taking more than nine?” he asked. He warned against any attempt to sideline the BNP and claimed that such moves would be resisted by the party's grassroots supporters. Farroque also accused the interim government of obsessing over BNP criticism instead of focusing on electoral reform.

Supporters of BNP leader Ishraque Hossain continued their sit-in protest at Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) headquarters on Monday, demanding that he be sworn in as mayor. Protesters blocked the main gate and padlocked office entrances across all departments, halting DSCC services. Organized under the “Dhakabashi” banner, the protest began around 11:30 AM and drew increasing numbers throughout the day.

Following a Supreme Court verdict, Jamaat-e-Islami's Assistant Secretary General Dr. Hamidur Rahman Azad met with Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin to discuss the party’s re-registration and retrieval of its traditional scales (দাঁড়িপাল্লা) symbol. A press conference organized by the anti-discrimination student movement demanding the removal of Bauphal UNO Md. Aminul Islam was violently disrupted. Protesters alleged that Ansar members physically shoved female leaders Shahnaz and Aishatunnesa Barsha, along with activists Siam Ahmed and Shuvo Chandra Shil.

The National Citizens Party (NCP) has announced a new coordination committee for its Dhaka North unit to strengthen its political activities. Former Dhaka University student leader Akram Hossain has been appointed as the head of the 13-member committee. Mostak Ahmed Shishir will serve as Joint Coordinator. Notably, committee member Sardar Amirul Islam is the brother of Shahriar Alam Samyo, a Chhatra Dal leader who was recently stabbed to death at Suhrawardy Udyan.

BNP leader Aminul Haque has alleged that certain advisers within the current government are embezzling public funds and laundering the money abroad to secure their families’ financial futures. "These corrupt practices are now plain for the public to see," he said. Haque also stated that the people no longer want to see corrupt advisers in positions of power and demanded their immediate resignation. Regarding the potential resignation of the Chief Adviser, Haque remarked, "He is a highly respected figure both at home and abroad. Whether he stays or steps down is his personal decision, but the next leadership will be chosen by the people of Bangladesh." Muhammad Rezaul Karim, Amir of Islami Andolan Bangladesh and widely known as the Pir of Charmonai, emphasized the importance of the second phase of political dialogue on state reform, initiated by the National Consensus Commission. He urged for open and transparent discussions on the progress, roadmap, and challenges of the reform process. “The current government isn’t a neutral caretaker regime like those of the past — it was formed on the blood of thousands,” he stated. Though some work has been done in the ten months since the government was formed, he added, there have been no visible, structured, or impactful reforms to date.

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against former minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, accusing him of amassing illegal wealth worth over Tk 35 crore and conducting suspicious transactions exceeding Tk 100 crore. ACC Director General Akhter Hossain confirmed the development. Reports suggest that Hossain currently resides in Switzerland. His son, Khandaker Mashroor Hossain Mitu, is the former husband of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s daughter, Saima Wazed Putul. Mosharraf Hossain was elected MP three times under the Awami League banner.
