In a statement, the Dhaka University unit of Islami Chhatra Shibir claimed that the recent attempt to frame the national anthem incident as a conflict between ‘Islamists’ and ‘Pro-Bangladesh forces’ is actually a tactic to revive ultra-Bengali nationalism. The group condemned the baseless accusations against Shibir, asserting that the protest was organized under the banner of 'general students' but primarily attended by members of Chhatra Dal, Chhatra Union, and the Democratic Students’ Council. Shibir argued that video analysis clearly reveals the political affiliations of those involved and labeled the propaganda as a reflection of political bankruptcy and the rise of neo-fascist politics.

Once this plot was uncovered, the project was abruptly halted. However, as is often the case, officials involved in the scheme remain untouched. The Planning Commission stated that the government has tightened scrutiny in project approval and fund allocation, under which this project—“Establishment of PTI in Roumari, Kurigram”—was flagged.
