The National Consensus Party (NCP) will propose lowering the minimum voting age to 16 and the candidacy age to 23. Joint Convenor Sarwar Tushar stated that the reform recommendations would be submitted to the National Consensus Commission on Sunday. Khilafat Majlis Secretary-General Maulana Mamunul Haque has warned that any attempt to rehabilitate the Awami League could lead to another uprising. Speaking at a rally after Friday prayers, he stated that the ruling party must not be allowed to return to politics without facing justice.
