In response, Pinaki Bhattacharya called for the CPB office to be turned into a ‘students and people's headquarters.’ However, CPB leaders had already completed their planned programs.

Awami League activist Imran allegedly shot BNP worker Azgar Hossain (25), injuring him in the leg. Police recovered a pistol, two live bullets, and a spent shell from the scene. According to Azgar’s cousin, Bipul Hossain, the dispute started between Awami League leader Altaf Hossain and BNP activists Oliar Rahman and Abbas Ali. In response, Altaf’s nephew Imran fired a shot, which hit Azgar after narrowly missing Bipul.

A violent attack in Eidgaon, Cox’s Bazar, has resulted in the death of 55-year-old Habibul Huda, the father of coordinator Saidul Huda. Three other family members sustained injuries during the assault.
According to reports, the attack was orchestrated by former chairman of Islamabad Union and Upazila Awami League leader Abdur Razzak. The incident allegedly stemmed from suspicions that Saidul Huda had tipped off the police about Razzak, leading to his arrest.
However, law enforcement officials have suggested a different motive, claiming that the murder was linked to a long-standing land dispute. Investigations are ongoing to determine the actual cause of the attack.

Maulana ABM Musharraf Hossain, who was forced to leave his position as the Imam of Barishal Collectorate Mosque for praying for Delawar Hossain Sayeedi, has returned after 14 years. On Friday, he led Jumu’ah prayers at the mosque. Musharraf had allegedly been forced to resign by the then-administration on March 14, 2010. Since then, the Imam’s position has remained vacant. As it is not a government position, no legal complications exist. Locals are demanding his full reinstatement. The mosque’s Khatib, Sani Imam Hafiz Abdullah Al Mamun, stated that the divisional commissioner has permitted Maulana Musharraf to continue leading prayers after Ramadan.

Sultana Akter, the mother of missing student activist Yasin, has made a heartfelt plea for her son’s return. “It has been seven days since my son went missing. The police and administration are not helping to find him. My son is also a citizen of this country, so why is no one assisting in locating him? Please, bring my son back, alive or dead,” she said. Yasin, a member of the student wing of the opposition, went missing after a clash between locals and fishermen at Rasulpur Ghat in Khaliajuri, Netrokona. Three other missing individuals have since been found dead.

A Deputy Police Commissioner in Rangpur Metropolitan Police has been accused of assaulting a complainant and attempting to open fire when the victim tried to file an extortion case against him at Kotwali Police Station.
The accused officer has since been transferred. Meanwhile, police have arrested businessman leader Amit Banik and sent him to jail. Kotwali police have filed a general diary (GD) against the officer. Reports suggest that the accused officer was involved in demanding bribes to withdraw murder charges against Lipi Khan, a local leader close to the ruling Awami League. When Banik sought legal action against the officer, he was drawn into a conflict that led to his arrest.

Police have arrested Sikdar Riyad Hossain Apu, the president of the banned Dashmina Upazila Chhatra League, on Thursday.
