Ten more Palestinians, including three children, have died of malnutrition in Gaza due to Israel’s blockade, raising the death toll from hunger since October 2023 to 332, the Health Ministry said. The IPC has confirmed famine in Gaza Governorate and warned of its spread to Deir al-Balah and Khan Younis. Over 500,000 people face extreme hunger, while over a million endure severe food insecurity. Israel’s offensive has killed more than 63,000 people, leaving Gaza devastated and under international legal scrutiny.
At least 77 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza within 24 hours, according to local reports. Among the dead, 11 people lost their lives while waiting in line for bread.
Of the victims, 47 were residents of Gaza City, where bombardments and forced displacement have triggered a mass exodus. Hundreds of Palestinians, carrying only a few belongings, were seen fleeing the city in trucks, vans, and even donkey carts.
On Friday, Israel announced it had entered the “initial phase” of seizing control of Gaza City, declaring it a “battle zone.”
Al Jazeera correspondent Hani Mahmoud described the escalating situation:
“Attacks across Gaza City are intensifying. Homes, community centers—everything is being destroyed. The foundations of civilian life are collapsing. All this is happening while people are already facing famine, starvation, and acute water shortages. The entire situation is turning into a humanitarian catastrophe.”
Israeli Strikes Kill 77 Palestinians in Gaza in a Single Day
An Israeli soldier has died and four others are missing following intense clashes with Hamas in the Gaza Strip, where 11 soldiers were also injured. The confrontation occurred as Israeli forces advanced toward Gaza City under wartime cabinet orders and faced resistance from Hamas’ Al-Qassam Brigades. This is among the most severe clashes since the October 7, 2023, Israeli operation began. The IDF has restricted media updates, and prior to the offensive, Gaza was declared a high-risk conflict zone.
Hamas’s armed wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, has warned Israel that any attempt to occupy the Gaza Strip will bring devastating consequences. Spokesperson Abu Ubaida said Palestinian fighters are on high alert and prepared to inflict heavy losses, including more Israeli casualties and captives. He accused Prime Minister Netanyahu of reducing the number of living captives and concealing the dead. Abu Ubaida vowed Hamas would safeguard enemy prisoners and publish names, photos, and details of killed Israeli soldiers.
Yemen’s Chief of General Staff, Major General Mohammed Abdulkarim al-Ghamari, announced an escalation of attacks on Israel in response to alleged assassination attempts by Israeli forces. He warned that Tel Aviv would eventually be forced to halt its offensive in Gaza. The statement followed Israeli claims that airstrikes in Sanaa may have killed senior Yemeni officials. Al-Ghamari condemned the strikes as targeting civilians and vowed Yemen would not retreat from supporting Gaza, despite casualties or leadership losses.
Israeli bombardment of Gaza continues to claim lives, with at least 59 Palestinians killed and 244 injured in just one day. This brings the death toll in Gaza to over 63,000 since the escalation began.
Attacks on aid collectors alone have killed 2,203 people. Airstrikes in Gaza City have been paired with intensified ground assaults, leaving no part of the enclave untouched.
Hospitals are overwhelmed or destroyed, forcing many of the wounded to die without treatment. A lack of equipment has also left people trapped under rubble with little chance of rescue. On Friday alone, five people—including children—died of starvation and malnutrition, raising the hunger-related death toll to 322, including 121 children.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has dismissed a proposal for a 40-kilometer buffer zone between Ukrainian and Russian forces, saying it does not reflect modern warfare. He argued that today’s conflict, driven by drones, already creates a de facto buffer zone near the front lines. His remarks came after reports that European leaders were exploring the idea to halt fighting or reach a long-term deal. Zelensky stressed that only those unaware of current military realities would suggest such a measure.
Russia’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said Ukraine cannot receive security guarantees before signing a peace agreement. She emphasized that any measures must consider Russia’s security interests. Zakharova outlined that lasting peace requires Ukraine’s demilitarization, “denazification,” neutrality, nuclear-free status, and acceptance of current territorial realities. She warned Western proposals are one-sided and could escalate NATO involvement. Despite prisoner exchanges and talks, no major agreement has been reached. The U.S. aims to resolve the conflict by late 2025, with a peace proposal already on the table.
Israel has declared Gaza City a “dangerous battlefield” as its forces escalate operations with heavy airstrikes and shelling, particularly in northern and eastern areas. The army ended a temporary humanitarian pause, warning of ongoing offensives against militant groups. UNRWA cautioned that up to one million people risk further displacement, while famine has already taken hold. Since October 2023, Israeli attacks have killed over 63,000 Palestinians, amid a blockade that has crippled food, medicine, and essential services in Gaza.
At least 61 Palestinians were killed in the past 24 hours as Israeli forces intensified strikes across Gaza, local sources said Friday. Among the dead were 19 people who were killed while attempting to collect humanitarian aid.
Four others, including two children, died of starvation and malnutrition, residents reported. Heavy bombardments targeted eastern and southern Gaza City, with fears of mass casualties and large-scale displacement of nearly one million Palestinians taking refuge in those areas.
In Zaytoun alone, more than 1,500 homes were destroyed, leaving the neighborhood reduced to rubble. The Israeli military stated it was targeting fighters and their infrastructure across Gaza.
Meanwhile, UN human rights experts expressed concern over the growing number of Palestinians reported missing amid the conflict.

Iran-backed Houthi Prime Minister Ahmed Al-Rahawi has been killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting an apartment in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, according to Al-Jumhuriya Television on Saturday.
Local outlet Aden Al-Ghad reported that several of Rahawi’s aides also died in the strike, which was separate from a wider offensive targeting nearly 10 senior Houthi ministers, including the defense minister. The officials were reportedly scheduled to hear an address from Houthi leader Abdul Malik Al-Houthi at the time of the attack.
Arab media reported nearly 10 airstrikes in Sanaa, including one on the presidential palace that killed several Houthi leaders. The Israeli military confirmed strikes on multiple political and military sites tied to the Houthis, while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu monitored the operation via secure communication channels.
Earlier, Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz had warned, “After darkness comes the blow upon the firstborn. Anyone who raises a hand against Israel will have it cut off.”

Russia has unleashed one of its most devastating drone strikes on Ukraine, causing widespread damage to energy infrastructure and leaving more than 100,000 households without electricity, President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed.
According to Zelensky, Russia deployed nearly 100 drones overnight, targeting power plants and other key energy facilities. A school in Kharkiv and a high-rise building in Kherson were also hit.
Ukraine’s Energy Ministry condemned the strikes as part of Moscow’s ongoing strategy to cripple civilian infrastructure ahead of winter. Meanwhile, a Ukrainian military official admitted that Russian troops briefly entered the Dnipropetrovsk region for the first time, though their advance was halted.

Yemeni armed forces have claimed responsibility for a missile attack on Al-Lidd Airport in the Yaffa region of Israel, carried out with a Palestine-2 ballistic missile in retaliation for the blockade on Gaza.
Military spokesperson General Yahya Saree said the strike disrupted airport operations and forced “hundreds of thousands of occupying Jews” to flee to shelters. Declaring the attack a “religious and moral duty” to support Palestinians, Saree urged the Arab and Islamic world to take stronger action against the “genocide and blockade” in Gaza.
He added, “We stand with Gaza until the siege is lifted and the aggression ends.”

Israeli drone strikes on Syrian military positions near Damascus killed six soldiers early Wednesday, according to Syria’s state media. The attack targeted the Al-Kiswah area, continuing a series of Israeli operations since Bashar al-Assad’s fall last December. Syria accused Israel of occupying parts of the Golan Heights buffer zone, building military bases, and deploying troops near Mount Hermon. The strikes follow recent deadly sectarian clashes in Suwayda, with Israel citing protection of Druze communities while intensifying pressure on Damascus.
In Monday’s deadly Israeli airstrikes on a Gaza hospital, at least 20 people, including five journalists and several medical staff, were killed. Among them was Palestinian journalist Mariam Abu Daqqa, who left behind a touching letter for her son, Gaith.
In the letter, she wrote:
“My dear Gaith, I want you to pray for me. Do not cry at my death—let me be happy. I did everything so you could live happily, safely, and healthily. I want you to grow into a successful businessman. When you marry and have a daughter, name her ‘Mariam’ after me. You are my love, my heart, my soul. Pray for me. Your mother, Mariam.”
