A Bangladesh court has ordered the seizure of 54 katha of land belonging to Summit Group Chairman Aziz Khan, his family, and associated entities following a petition by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). While the land’s market value has been officially stated as BDT 1.46 crore, the actual estimated value is BDT 9.70 crore. Previously, on March 9, the court had also frozen 191 bank accounts linked to Summit Group, holding BDT 41.74 crore.

Indian security forces have arrested 29 Bangladeshi nationals during separate operations in the state of Tripura. Between March 6 and March 10, the Border Security Force (BSF) conducted raids along various border points, leading to the arrests. Additionally, seven Indian human traffickers were also apprehended. According to a report by Jagaran Tripura, the BSF has intensified security measures, including organizing over nine community meetings in border villages to address public concerns regarding illegal crossings.

29 Bangladeshi Nationals Arrested in Tripura

A case has been filed at the International Crimes Tribunal against 121 individuals, including Sheikh Helal and Talukder Abdul Khaleq, for alleged crimes against humanity during the recent mass uprising. The plaintiff, Naeem Shikdar, claims he was shot on August 4 during the protests and still has over 400 bullet fragments in his body. He recounted how a large bullet hit his back, which was later removed without anesthesia by a doctor after repeated requests. Meanwhile, DB police have arrested constable Nasirul, who was wanted in connection with the mass killing at Chankharpul in July. He was presented before the tribunal on Tuesday.

121, Including Sheikh Helal, Accused of Crimes Against Humanity During Mass Uprising

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 206 individuals in a series of operations across the capital, targeting criminals involved in mugging, theft, and robbery. According to a media statement from the DMP, the arrests were made in connection with 53 cases filed in various police stations. To enhance public safety and maintain law and order, the DMP deployed special patrol teams, including 14 units from the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) division working in two shifts, 12 units from the Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) operating in three shifts, and 10 Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) patrol teams at night.

206 Arrested in Dhaka for Snatching, Theft, and Other Crimes

Golam Kibria Md. Meshkat Chowdhury, the former central coordinator of an anti-discrimination organization, has issued a legal notice against nine individuals, including journalists and a university professor, for allegedly spreading false and baseless news. The controversy began on February 25, when Meshkat Chowdhury and three others were reportedly trapped inside Rajshahi Barind Medical College Hospital and later rescued by law enforcement. However, social media posts falsely claimed they were there for extortion. Both sides have denied any extortion attempts. In response to the misinformation, Chowdhury sent legal notices to those responsible, including Loton Ekram, Sourav Habib, Golam Rabbani, Mehedi Hasan Shyamal, Professor Kazi Zahid, Abdur Rahim, and Dr. Najib Wadud.

Legal Notice Issued Against Journalist, Professor, and Seven Others Over ‘False News’

Acting on complaints, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) conducted a raid at the regional office on Tuesday afternoon. During the operation, officials discovered 151 files stalled on his desk, even past their due processing time. These files reportedly include applications for teacher MPO enlistment, area bills, leave approvals, and NOCs for foreign travel. The deadline to send these files to the MAUSI headquarters in Dhaka had already passed, yet they remained with Dr. Alamgir Kabir. When questioned by ACC officials, he failed to provide a satisfactory explanation.
