Heads of the five reform commissions formed in the second phase have sent a letter to the Chief Adviser, urging that their recommendations be incorporated into the upcoming July Charter.

In their letter, the commission leaders emphasized that implementing the second phase of reforms is just as crucial as the first in institutionalizing democracy and building a new Bangladesh. Despite time constraints, they proposed two immediate steps: implement feasible reforms right away and include a pledge in the Charter ensuring future governments will continue the reform process. They also warned that without inclusion of reforms related to media, women, labor, health, and local governance, political parties might disregard them in the future.

A portrait of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman hanging in the office of Sonarghop Ramesh Chandra Government Primary School in Pirojpur has ignited political controversy. Local BNP leaders allege that displaying the image is an attempt at political influence. Since the fall of the Awami League government on August 5, images of Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Mujib have been removed from most institutions in Nazirpur Upazila—except this school.
Headteacher Shamima Yasmin defended the portrait, saying, “My father was a freedom fighter. Bangabandhu is the Father of the Nation. We love and respect him. The question of removing his portrait does not arise.” Local administration confirmed there's no official directive to remove such portraits, though changes are being made in line with the political climate. Authorities indicated Yasmin would be served a show-cause notice.

Despite being peak hilsa season (June–October), fishermen in Bhola are struggling to catch an adequate number of the prized fish in the Meghna and Tetulia rivers. With over 200,000 fishermen facing financial hardship, locals recently organized special prayers (Khatme Yunus and Doa-Munajat) along the Meghna River, hoping for divine intervention. Sixty Islamic scholars participated in the event, led by religious leader Pir Maulana Muhibullah.
District Fisheries Officer Biswajit Kumar Deb attributed the decline in hilsa to climate change and underwater siltation that has disrupted natural breeding routes. He emphasized that resolving these issues could help restore fish populations.
