Following nearly two weeks of intense conflict, both Iranian and Israeli media confirmed that a ceasefire has come into effect.
President Trump had earlier announced the truce, stating it would be implemented six hours post-declaration, around midnight local time.
Iran’s state outlet Press TV said the ceasefire took effect after four separate Iranian attacks on Israeli-occupied areas.
Israeli outlets Channel 12 and Ynet also confirmed the truce but noted uncertainty over the exact conditions and timing of enforcement.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Iran has made it clear Israel initiated the conflict and Tehran has no interest in continuing the war. “So far, no agreement on ceasefire has been finalized. But if Israel stops its illegal attacks on the Iranian people by the set deadline of 4 AM, Iran will have no intention of continuing the war,” he said. However, it’s noteworthy that the declared deadline has already passed.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stated on social media that Iran has not attacked anyone but will not tolerate aggression from others under any circumstances. He wrote, “We will never bow to aggression—this is the logic of the Iranian nation.” Earlier, Iran’s IRGC reportedly launched missile strikes at the U.S. military base Al-Udeid in Qatar, along with reports of attacks on another U.S. base in Iraq.

According to The New York Times, citing three Iranian officials, Tehran had warned Qatari authorities ahead of the missile strike on Al-Udeid Air Base to minimize casualties. Iran aimed to retaliate for the U.S. strike on its nuclear facilities while also preventing escalation. This mirrors a similar approach taken in 2020 when Iran informed Iraq ahead of retaliatory strikes following the killing of General Qassem Soleimani. Despite the warning, Qatar strongly condemned the attack as a blatant breach of its sovereignty.

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council clarified that the missile strike on Al-Udeid Air Base was not directed against Qatar. In a statement, it emphasized that the attack was carried out away from civilian areas and posed no threat to the Qatari people. Iran reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining warm and historic relations with Qatar. Notably, Qatar has still denounced the incident as a violation of its sovereignty and the UN Charter.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Education, Saeed Khatibzadeh, said Tehran will determine the timing, nature, and scale of any retaliatory response to U.S. actions against its nuclear facilities.

General Abdolrahim Mousavi, Iran's newly appointed Armed Forces Chief, declared that Iran is prepared to take decisive action against both the United States and its “illegitimate and aggressive offspring,” Israel. “The hands of Islam’s warriors are now free to take any necessary steps,” he stated, signaling a significant escalation in rhetoric.
