Hamas has agreed to a new 60-day ceasefire proposal mediated by Qatar, Egypt, and international organizations.
According to Reuters, the deal includes Hamas releasing half of the hostages it currently holds in exchange for Israel freeing a number of Palestinian prisoners.
Sources in Egypt said the framework also paves the way for a broader agreement aimed at ending the nearly two-year-long conflict. The plan is reportedly similar to a previous U.S.-backed proposal that Israel had already accepted.

At least 47 Palestinians were killed and 226 injured in the past 24 hours of Israeli attacks on Gaza, according to the enclave’s health ministry.

Since October 2023, Israel’s war has killed at least 61,944 Palestinians and injured 155,886. The ministry added that hunger caused by Israel’s blockade claimed another seven lives in the last 24 hours.

Rescue workers are struggling to reach victims still trapped under rubble and in the streets. Meanwhile, Israeli forces opened fire on crowds seeking humanitarian aid, killing 14 people and injuring more than 132.

The Gaza Health Ministry reported that at least 70 Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks over the past 24 hours, with eight more bodies recovered from the rubble. Another 385 people were injured.

The death toll from Israel’s offensive since October 2023 now stands at 61,897. Hunger and malnutrition have killed 251 people, including 108 children, while 26 were shot dead in the past day while attempting to collect aid.

Rescue operations remain severely hampered, with many victims still trapped under debris.

Bangladesh, along with 30 other nations, has strongly condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent remarks about his so-called “Greater Israel Vision.”

In a joint statement, Arab and Islamic foreign ministers—along with the heads of the Arab League, OIC, and GCC—branded the comments a “gross violation of international law” and a “direct threat to Arab national security and regional peace.”

The statement also denounced extremist Israeli minister Bezalel Smotrich’s approval of settlement expansion near the West Bank and his racist comments against a Palestinian state. Arab leaders reiterated calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and unhindered humanitarian aid, urging the UN Security Council—especially the United States—to force Israel to halt its ongoing aggression.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) has reported that child malnutrition in Gaza City has reached 21.5%. This means nearly one in five young children is undernourished.

The crisis is being compounded by soaring temperatures above 40°C and limited water supplies, heightening dehydration risks. UNRWA staff, already under immense stress, are themselves facing severe food insecurity.

An Israeli strike near Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza has killed five Al Jazeera journalists—reporters Anas Al-Sharif and Mohammed Quraikah, and cameramen Ibrahim Zaher, Mohammed Noufal, and Moamen Aliwa.
The group was in a press tent when it was hit. Al Jazeera called the attack a “deliberate and blatant assault on press freedom.” The IDF later admitted targeting Al-Sharif.
