The Secretary-General of the International Muslim Scholars Union, Ali al-Qaradaghi, issued a fatwa urging all Muslim nations to immediately intervene militarily, economically, and politically to stop the Israeli genocide and widespread destruction in Gaza. In the 15-point decree, al-Qaradaghi warned that Arab and Islamic governments failing to act would be committing a grave sin against their oppressed Palestinian brothers. He also prohibited the sale of weapons or the provision of logistical support to Israel through international waterways like the Suez Canal, Bab El-Mandeb, and the Hormuz Strait. The fatwa has been supported by 14 other prominent Islamic figures.

Following the breakdown of a ceasefire, renewed Israeli attacks on Gaza are causing devastating harm to children, with at least 100 children killed or injured daily, said UNRWA head Philippe Lazzarini.
“This war is not theirs, yet it is claiming their lives,” he stated, urging immediate action to protect Gaza’s children.
Lazzarini added that nearly 15,000 children have reportedly died since the war began a year and a half ago.
Pakistan has called on the UN Security Council to take immediate steps to halt the war.

At least 86 Palestinians were killed in the past 24 hours in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. Since the beginning of the Israeli offensive in October 2023, the total death toll has climbed to 50,609.

An additional 287 people have been injured in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of wounded to 115,063. The Gaza government’s media office has stated that including those still trapped under the rubble, the real death toll has likely exceeded 62,700. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has announced plans for an expanded military operation to take control of more areas in Gaza. Israel has proposed a 40-day ceasefire in Gaza, aiming to secure the release of 11 live Israeli hostages and the return of 16 bodies. In return, Israel is willing to release a specific number of Palestinian prisoners.

The proposal includes a request for Hamas to provide information about the remaining hostages on the fifth day of the ceasefire and to return 16 bodies on the tenth day. On the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr, 53 bodies were brought to Gaza’s hospitals. Over the past 48 hours, Israeli strikes have injured at least 305 more people. Since March 18, intensified airstrikes have killed over 1,000 Palestinians and wounded nearly 2,400.
