Ayman, a 10-year-old student injured in the recent training aircraft crash at Uttara Milestone School and College, passed away Friday morning at the National Burn Institute. He had suffered burns on 45% of his body. With his death, the total number of fatalities has risen to 35. Currently, 41 individuals remain hospitalized, six of whom are in critical condition. The government is covering all medical expenses, while international medical experts are assisting in treatment efforts. Ayman’s death has plunged his family into deep mourning.
An unidentified man entered Saghata Police Station in Gaibandha on Thursday night and stabbed Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Mohsin Ali in the head and hand. The attacker also attempted to snatch a rifle before fleeing by jumping into a nearby pond behind the station. After an overnight search, his body was recovered Friday morning by the fire service. His identity remains unknown. ASI Mohsin Ali is currently in stable condition and out of danger.
SpaceX's satellite-based internet service, Starlink, suffered a massive global outage lasting nearly two and a half hours, impacting more than six million users across over 140 countries. The disruption was caused by a software malfunction, confirmed by Starlink’s Head of Engineering, Michael Nicolls. Elon Musk also addressed the issue on X, expressing regret and assuring a permanent fix. Analysts are calling it the most significant outage in Starlink’s history. Since its launch in 2020, Starlink has deployed over 8,000 satellites, providing internet access to remote areas worldwide.

Malaysian authorities have deported 198 individuals, including 123 Bangladeshis, from Kuala Lumpur International Airport for failing to meet entry requirements. One Bangladeshi national, Md. Millat Hossain (21), was killed and another, Md. Afsar (31), injured after Indian Border Security Force (BSF) opened fire at the Basbariya border in Parshuram upazila, Feni. A progress review meeting on customs and VAT revenue collection was held under the leadership of NBR’s Chairman of the Internal Resources Division, Md. Abdur Rahman Khan. The United States Trade Representative (USTR) has officially invited Bangladesh for final tariff negotiations in Washington on July 29, confirmed Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman. The Bangladeshi delegation will be led by Trade Advisor Sheikh Bashir Uddin. Discussions may also be held virtually. Bangladesh hopes to negotiate a reduction in the current 35% tariff rate and has proposed duty-free imports of cotton, wheat, LNG, aircraft, and agricultural products from the U.S. A deal has already been signed to import 700,000 tons of wheat.
