Speaking at a rally in Munshiganj, he warned of ongoing conspiracies against the state, emphasizing the urgent need for unity. Northern NCP leader Sarjis Alam added that fascist forces are still active in the country and must be confronted for true independence to be realized. He also demanded justice for political assassins abroad and declared that he wants to see Hasina tried and sentenced.

BNP Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed has warned that failure to issue the ‘July Charter’ this month will fall squarely on the shoulders of the interim government and the Consensus Commission. Speaking at a silent rally organized by Dhaka North BNP to commemorate the martyrs of the 24th mass uprising, he criticized proponents of proportional representation (PR) elections, labeling their motives as insincere. He reiterated that BNP views the interim government as akin to a caretaker administration and accused certain factions of trying to divide democratic forces. He called for a united national front against fascism.

The 34 Battalion of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has provided financial assistance to four Bangladeshi nationals injured by a landmine explosion planted by Myanmar forces along the Naikhongchhari border in Bandarban. The victims, residents of Tumbru and Ukhiya areas, were collecting firewood near the zero line when the explosion occurred. BGB sources report that the Arakan Army has been planting landmines along the border, leading to such tragic incidents. BGB Commander Lt. Col. Khairul Alam stated that support for the injured and underprivileged will continue.

The U.S. Embassy in Dhaka has issued a stern warning regarding fraudulent practices in visa applications, stating that submitting fake documents or concealing information may result in a permanent ban from entering the United States. In certain cases, criminal charges may also be filed. In an official alert, the embassy emphasized that applicants are responsible for providing accurate information and maintaining transparency throughout the visa process. It also noted that withholding information, including data from social media, could lead to visa rejection. Applicants have been strongly advised to avoid relying on brokers or fraudsters and to submit their own information truthfully and independently. Additionally, as of July 10, it is mandatory to include all social media handles used by applicants in the visa application form.

The United Nations Human Rights Commission (UNHCR) has officially launched its mission in Bangladesh. On Friday, it signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk and Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam signed the agreement. Under this initiative, the mission will provide training and technical assistance to Bangladesh in safeguarding human rights. Earlier, the Advisory Council led by Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus approved the mission. The UN office has been actively engaged in human rights issues in Bangladesh since last year.

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has voiced serious concern over rising extortion and harassment of ordinary citizens through false cases in Chattogram. In a statement signed by Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, the party urged local authorities to take immediate action. “If security and stability are not ensured in the country’s commercial hub, business and trade will suffer,” Rizvi warned. BNP also called on businesses and citizens to resist criminal elements.

As part of its nationwide campaign demanding implementation of the ‘July Charter’, the National Citizens’ Party (NCP) will organize a march in Chattogram on Sunday, July 20. Party leaders including Convener Nahid Islam, Secretary Akhter Hossain, Chief Organizer Hasnat Abdullah, and Sarjis Alam will lead the event. Chattogram coordinator Zubairul Hasan Arif stated that the two-day program will cover Cox’s Bazar, Bandarban, Rangamati, and Chattogram districts. The march will begin in Cox’s Bazar on July 19, pass through Bandarban and Rangamati, and conclude in central Chattogram on July 20. Preparations are reportedly complete.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) alleges that former Prime Minister Imran Khan is being held in a "death cell" under inhumane conditions, with no access to his lawyers or family members. In response to a recent attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, the United States has officially designated The Resistance Front (TRF), a Pakistan-based affiliate of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), as a Foreign Terrorist Organization. Nahid Islam, Convener of the National Citizens' Party (NCP), has vowed to continue the struggle against “Mujibism and fascism” until both are eradicated. Addressing a roadside rally in Munshiganj on Friday, he said, “NCP cannot be suppressed through attacks and lawsuits. Greater battles lie ahead.” He urged party members to stay prepared and vigilant. Referring to the recent attacks in Gopalganj, NCP leaders demanded justice and capital punishment for Sheikh Hasina. Northern region leader Sarjis Alam called for a united resistance against fascism, while southern organizer Hasnat Abdullah warned of both domestic and foreign conspiracies and announced a mass rally at the National Shaheed Minar on August 3.

In Illinois, USA, an Indian woman was caught shoplifting items worth approximately ₹1.1 lakh from a daily shopping store. According to NDTV, the woman wandered inside the store for seven hours before attempting to leave without paying, when staff stopped her. The incident’s video and police bodycam footage have gone viral. A police officer was seen asking her, “Is theft legal in your country?” Following the incident, the US Embassy has issued a warning to Indian nationals, stating that such offenses could lead to visa cancellation and future bans, emphasizing that crimes abroad can also impact passport and visa statuses.

More than 100 schools in Delhi and Bengaluru have received bomb threats via email. Around 50 schools in Delhi and at least 40 in Bengaluru were targeted with emails titled “Bomb Inside School,” which included violent language and details about alleged explosives. Delhi has received similar threats for four consecutive days. Bengaluru police have launched extensive searches across affected campuses. Authorities believe the emails were sent using VPNs and encrypted networks, making it difficult to trace the source. Police are treating it as a dark web-based cyber threat.
