Awami League has no right to participate in politics, said NCP Convener Nahid Islam, stating that banning the party has become a public demand. After visiting the graves of martyrs from the July uprising, he emphasized, "We believe in justice. We think the issue of banning Awami League can be resolved through legal and political consensus." He also added, "Even during Eid, sorrow lingers among us as many families celebrate without their loved ones lost in the uprising. We are here at Jurain Cemetery to share their grief." He urged authorities to expedite the rehabilitation of those injured and the families of the deceased.

Russian President Vladimir Putin extended Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to the Muslim community in Russia. The 198th Eid congregation at Asia’s largest historical Eidgah, Sholakia, was held peacefully at 10:00 AM. Mufti Abul Khair Mohammad Saifullah led the prayers, with the area resonating with the chants of “Allahu Akbar.” Police Superintendent Mohammad Hasan Chowdhury confirmed that over 600,000 worshippers participated, making it the largest Eid congregation in the country. For security, police, RAB, BGB, Ansar, and the army were deployed, along with 64 CCTV cameras and six watchtowers for surveillance.

After Eid prayers at Baitul Mukarram, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman stated that for the first time in 16 years, Bangladeshis were celebrating Eid differently, free from fascist oppression. However, he noted that families of those martyred in the July movement were not celebrating in joy. He assured that justice would be served against those responsible for their fate. He pledged to work towards a corruption-free Bangladesh where every day feels like Eid. He called for a society based on justice, equality, and Islamic principles, free from oppression and discrimination.

At the DNCC Eid cultural program, Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan stated that Eid celebrations would be more joyous going forward. “No longer will we spend Eid just watching TV at home. We will participate in Eid processions and enjoy the Eid fair together,” he said. He emphasized that Dhaka’s historic Eid procession had been revived and that next year, the celebrations would be even grander despite time constraints this year.
