Marking World Hydrography Day 2025, Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus emphasized the need for accurate seabed mapping and a sustainable ocean policy to strengthen Bangladesh’s economic foundation. He called on professionals to work diligently in creating a comprehensive hydrographic database. He added that this effort would not only boost maritime security but also aid in port development, resource conservation, oil and gas exploration, and coastal disaster management.

Following Friday prayers, four Islamic organizations held a protest rally at the northern gate of Baitul Mukarram Mosque in Dhaka, condemning Israeli strikes on Iran. The groups — National Revolutionary Council, Islami Oikya Andolon, Khilafat Majlis, and the Council for the Revival of Islamic Unity and the Muslim Ummah — described the attacks as inhumane and a grave affront to Islamic brotherhood, demanding an immediate halt.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has warned that any continuation of Israeli aggression will trigger a more severe response from Iran. “We have always pursued peace and stability,” he said, “but peace can only be achieved if the Zionist regime ceases its acts of terror and guarantees a permanent halt to aggression. Jamaat-e-Islami leader Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher has voiced opposition to a bilateral meeting between a political party chairman and the head of a state, calling it inappropriate. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has reportedly transferred wartime authority to the Supreme Council of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), according to a report by Iran International. While the news has yet to be officially confirmed, sources indicate that Ayatollah Khamenei, along with his influential son Mojtaba Khamenei, has been moved to a secret bunker in Lavizan, northeast of Tehran.

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz said in a statement that Iran’s state institutions and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) must be targeted. He described them as the "pillars" of Iran’s regime. In a previous public address, Katz explicitly stated that Israel’s goal is to assassinate Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei—further signaling Israel's shift toward directly targeting Iran’s top leadership.

According to Turkish media, the United States and Germany have sent military supplies to Israel aboard 14 cargo planes amid the escalating conflict with Iran. The equipment is meant to support the Israeli army’s operational readiness. Since the start of Israel’s offensive on Gaza in October 2023, over 800 military cargo flights have reportedly landed in Israel.

Jamaat-e-Islami leader Prof. Mia Golam Parwar claimed that if free and fair elections are held, the people will vote for candidates aligned with Islamic values. He urged political unity to ensure victory for the party’s “scale” symbol. He accused the Awami League government of coming to power under a foreign agenda and persecuting Islamic scholars. “We must prepare now for a voting revolution in the upcoming election,” he said.

Four imprisoned Iranian women’s rights activists have condemned Israel’s military attacks and warned against foreign-backed regime change in Iran. In an open letter, Golrokh Ebrahimi Iraee, Varisheh Moradi, Sakineh Parvaneh, and Reyhaneh Ansarinejad denounced what they called “genocide in Gaza.” The activists stressed that liberation from dictatorship in Iran must come from grassroots struggles and social mobilization, not external intervention. The women are serving sentences for their involvement in labor unions, Kurdish rights activism, and the women’s movement.

Dr. Iftekharuzzaman, head of the Anti-Corruption Commission’s Reform Committee, said the reforms inspired by the July movement promised equal rights for all, but indigenous rights remain neglected. He noted that constitutional recognition of indigenous communities—one of their longstanding demands—has yet to be achieved. In response to Israeli attacks, Tehran has launched retaliatory missile strikes on Tel Aviv, with several projectiles bypassing Israel’s missile defense systems and hitting high-rise buildings. As a result, more than 8,000 Israeli residents have fled their homes fearing for their lives. According to Yedioth Ahronoth, Israel's Property Tax and Compensation Fund has received nearly 30,000 claims for damage to buildings and vehicles.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov warned that using U.S. tactical nuclear weapons against Iran would lead to catastrophic consequences. The Guardian reported that conventional bombs may not be sufficient to destroy Iran’s underground uranium enrichment facility at Fordow. Hezbollah will directly engage in the Iran-Israel conflict if the United States intervenes militarily or if Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is assassinated, a source told Middle East Eye. Hezbollah considers such actions as crossing a "red line." Earlier, on June 14, Hezbollah lawmaker Hasan Fadlallah declared, "Iran knows how to defend itself," signaling that any threat to its sovereignty could draw in regional allies.
