A group of 78 people left behind by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) at Mandarbaria Char in Satkhira are being transported to Shyamnagar Police Station, confirmed BGB Commander Lt. Commander Syed Abdur Rouf. Among them, 4 are Indian nationals, while the rest are Bangladeshis, mostly from Barishal, Narail, and Khulna districts. The group was moved from Mongla towards residential areas by the Coast Guard around 2 PM on Sunday.

A three-member high-level advisory committee has been formed to investigate how former President Md. Abdul Hamid left the country through the airport and whether there was any negligence involved. The committee is headed by Education Adviser Prof. C. R. Abrar, with Environment Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan and Labour Adviser Brig. Gen. (Retd.) M. Sakhawat Hossain as members. Former President Hamid departed for Thailand on Wednesday night via a Thai Airways flight.

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has detained 14 individuals for illegally entering Bangladesh through the Jibannagar border in Chuadanga. The arrests were made during an operation near the paved road in the Simanto Union area. During preliminary interrogation, the detainees admitted to crossing into India six months ago in search of better job opportunities and had now returned through illegal routes.

Buddhist temples across Rangamati observed Buddha Purnima with formal religious ceremonies. A grand procession began from Tablachari and ended at Asambasti Buddhaankur Temple, with devotees lighting lamps and offering prayers to the Buddha. Rituals included Buddha bathing, worship, the recitation of the Panchasheel and Ashtasheel, and the offering of statues. Throughout the day, temples like Rajban Vihara, Ananda Vihara, and Maitri Vihara were filled with devotees praying for peace and well-being.

Abu Hanif of Gono Adhikar Parishad has demanded the banning of the 14-party alliance and Jatiya Party, as well as the arrest of Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader and other top leaders. In celebration of the ban on Awami League’s activities, popular Islamic preacher Rafiq Madani fulfilled his promise by slaughtering a cow and distributing biryani to the locals in Letirkanda village of Purbadhala.
