Russia has sought the assistance of Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser, Muhammad Yunus, to ensure the continuation of state-owned Gazprom International’s gas exploration activities in the country. In 2023, Gazprom identified five new drilling sites in Bhola. Nahid Islam, the convener of the National Consensus Party (NCP), has stated that elections can be held within the stipulated timeframe if necessary reforms are implemented.
