A two-year-old child abducted from Fatullah in Narayanganj last Friday was rescued by members of RAB-11. Authorities arrested a couple, Sujon Mia, 31, and his wife Majeda, 29, in connection with the abduction. The child was later recovered from their custody in good health. According to RAB-11, the arrested couple lived as tenants next door to the victim’s family in the Lamapara area of Fatullah. They often interacted with the child, which helped them gain the family’s trust. On Friday morning, they allegedly took the child under the pretext of affection and later demanded a ransom of one lakh taka from the family, threatening to kill the child if the money was not paid. Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon announced that the new national syllabus and curriculum are being designed to reduce students’ dependence on coaching centers.
