Popular young television actor Shahbaz Sani has passed away. Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. Actor Ziaul Faruq Apurba confirmed the news in a Facebook post, writing, "Actor Shahbaz Sani is no longer with us. Please pray for him." His sudden demise has cast a shadow of grief over the entertainment industry. Sani made his acting debut in the drama 'Kachhe Asar Por' and quickly gained popularity. Though primarily a character actor, he also played leading roles, earning admiration from audiences in a short span.

An earthquake shook India’s capital, New Delhi, early Monday morning at 5:36 AM. Residents rushed out of their homes in panic. The tremor measured 4.0 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter in Dhaula Kuan, Delhi, at a depth of five kilometers. Though the quake lasted only a few seconds, locals reported hearing a loud noise along with the tremors. Many claim they have not experienced such a quake in the past 25 years. Police have arrested Dolna Akter Dola (27), a central sub-committee member of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League, from her home in Fulbari, Kurigram, at 9 PM on Sunday. According to police sources, she had been in hiding across various locations in Dhaka since Hasina fled. However, she returned home recently following the launch of the “Devil Hunt” operation. Panic spread across Mohammadpur, Dhaka, after an unidentified man brandished a pistol in broad daylight, threatening a pedestrian. The incident occurred around 5 PM on Sunday at Sher Shah Suri Road in front of 100-150 onlookers. Although the suspect’s identity remains unknown, locals have been left shaken. The altercation reportedly began when two rickshaws collided, leading to an argument between some motorcyclists nearby. In the heat of the moment, the suspect pulled out a gun, but upon seeing the gathering crowd, he quickly fled the scene.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reaffirmed his country’s commitment to fighting Iran with U.S. support. A violent clash erupted between students of two departments at Rajshahi University (RU) during an interdepartmental cricket match, leaving 20 people injured, including a faculty member. All the injured were initially treated at the university medical center, while five critically wounded students were transferred to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. Eyewitnesses reported that the conflict began after a semifinal match between the Mathematics and Management departments. The incident escalated when students from the Management department, upset over their loss, confronted Mathematics students, leading to a physical altercation.

BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed has questioned the motives of those advocating electoral reforms to delay the national election. Speaking at a public gathering in Feni, he asserted that local elections would not be allowed before the national election under any circumstances. BNP activists have been accused of vandalizing a Jamaat-e-Islami office in Hemayetpur, Pabna. The attackers also reportedly set fire to several local houses and looted property. A case has been filed against 277 individuals, including former Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel and former Mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury, for their alleged involvement in an attack on the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement. The case, lodged at Bakolia Police Station, names 127 individuals while keeping 100-150 others unidentified. BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman will listen to grassroots leaders during the party’s upcoming extended meeting on February 27. Former parliamentary candidates from the 2018 elections will also attend, according to BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi. Already suffering from outdated machinery, Ashuganj Fertilizer Factory in Brahmanbaria has been facing a severe gas supply crisis, leading to production halts for half the year. Despite its potential for profitability, inconsistent gas supply has severely hampered operations. The factory, which began commercial production in 1983, primarily produces prilled urea fertilizer. Although its production capacity is 1,600 tons per day, it currently operates at only 1,100 tons. Allegations suggest that vested interests within the Awami League deliberately cut gas supply to boost fertilizer imports for personal profit.
