Salman Khan, a supervisor of the luxury bus line ‘Saint Martin,’ was abducted on Monday in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar. He was reportedly taken by unknown individuals after his bus was stopped near the new road junction in South Alikhali on its way to Dhaka.

Police Inspector (Investigation) Himel Roy of Teknaf Model Police Station confirmed that they are actively investigating the case, though no formal complaint has yet been filed by the victim’s family.

Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur alleged that a sudden power outage during his rally speech might have been an intentional disruption.

"Make sure the markets where we host programs don’t suffer power sabotage. This may be a tactic to silence our voice," said Nur. He reiterated that his party is composed of honest, corruption-free individuals and pledged to continue their struggle without compromise. Nur also warned ruling party officials in Dashmina and Galachipa that the people would respond through their votes in the next election.

BNP leader Mostafa Zaman claimed that aside from Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and Begum Khaleda Zia, all others pursued politics for personal gain. He credited Zia for securing the country's independence and Khaleda Zia for her fight to restore democracy.

He added that under Tareq Rahman’s leadership, a mass uprising is underway. Zaman criticized Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as an autocrat and accused her of nepotism — a practice he claims was avoided by Zia’s family. He warned that disciplinary actions would be taken against any BNP members aiding the ruling party’s alleged corruption or criminal activities.

BNP leader Lion Khorhshed Alam extended financial aid to widow Hanufa, who is living in dire conditions with her two children in Savar. The assistance came under the directive of BNP Acting Chairman Tareq Rahman.

Alam stated, “We have provided cash assistance for building a new home for Hanufa on behalf of Tareq Rahman. Our humanitarian efforts will continue.”

Mohammad Naim Mia (21), a college student, succumbed to injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital following a brutal knife attack in Gafargaon, Mymensingh. The incident occurred last Friday night and is believed to be a result of a longstanding feud.

The attackers allegedly include Topu Mia, his father Shamsul, Jalil (son of Islam Uddin), and several unidentified individuals. Naim's family also claims they are receiving threats. Gafargaon OC Ferdous Ahmed stated that Naim had six prior cases against him, involving assault and theft, which may be linked to the dispute.

Hamas has categorically denied rumors of an assassination attempt on Dr. Khalil Al-Hayya, head of its Gaza branch, in Doha.

In an official statement, Hamas clarified that the reports circulating on social media were “completely false and baseless.” The group strongly condemned the spread of such misinformation, urging media outlets to verify facts before publishing such claims. “Do not fall into the traps of Zionist propaganda,” the statement warned.

Amid escalating attacks between Iran and Israel, Pakistan has indefinitely closed its border with Iran.

Senior official Qadir Bakhsh Pirkaani from Balochistan told AFP that cross-border activities in Chagai, Washuk, Panjgur, Kech, and Gwadar districts have been suspended. “No one is allowed to enter Iran until further notice,” he said. However, trade activities remain unaffected, and Pakistani citizens currently in Iran are permitted to return home. Reports indicate that Pakistanis from Iran are already making their way back across the border.

Asif Mahmud, advisor to the Local Government Division (LGD), stated in a press release that the LGD did not violate any laws regarding the ongoing DSCC mayoral issue. He explained that the gazette's tenure expired while the matter was sub judice, and later, the city corporation's term also ended — legally nullifying any opportunity for a formal oath-taking.

Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has warned that Iran’s armed forces will render the “barbaric” enemy Israel helpless, as it has shown no respect for any “red lines.”

Speaking to lawmakers, Ghalibaf said that the fear instilled in the hearts of occupiers and criminals over the past few nights will continue until they repent and face punishment for their aggression. “Our armed forces will turn their world into a living hell, and the entire world will witness their downfall,” he added.

The Chief Adviser has ordered the formation of a committee to investigate the roles of former Chief Election Commissioners, Election Commissioners, and secretaries of the Election Commission Secretariat in organizing three controversial national elections.

During a meeting with the National Consensus Commission, Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus issued the directive to form the committee without delay. Speaking about the progress, Ali Riaz said that significant consensus has already been reached, and with discussions involving all political parties, the final charter could be ready soon. The Chief Adviser expressed hope that the national consensus charter will be presented by July, stating, “Everyone is eagerly waiting for the July Charter. Hopefully, we will present it to the nation by then.” He also mentioned that expatriates in London have shown keen interest in political reforms.

Despite ongoing Israeli military aggression, Iran remains committed to its peaceful nuclear program, according to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghaei. He asserted that Iran’s nuclear program is fully compliant with UN Security Council Resolution 2231 and that no external power can force its suspension.
