BNP leader Major (Retd.) Hafizuddin Ahmed has claimed that a few members of the government's advisory council are facing corruption allegations. He stated that after assuming their roles, some advisers allegedly began securing licenses for their relatives in relevant ministries, causing harm to both the nation and themselves. Criticizing the inclusion of student leaders in advisory roles, Hafiz remarked, “Students should be studying at universities at this age. They can enter politics after earning their degrees.” He accused the current advisers of misguiding a once-promising generation of student activists, saying their involvement in lobbying and disruptive demonstrations has diverted them from constructive political engagement. Hafiz warned that what could have been the future leadership of Bangladesh was squandered by prematurely involving them in the cabinet.

A total of 105 foreign nationals, including several Bangladeshis, were deported from Kuala Lumpur International Airport by Malaysia’s Aviation Security (AVSEC) for failing to meet essential entry conditions. In an official statement, authorities said they identified deceptive tactics used by these individuals during an operation. The passengers were found to be using Malaysia as a transit point en route to third countries. Authorities have ordered their return to their home countries.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized Indian contraband items worth Tk 20.3 crore during an anti-smuggling operation at Haluarghat along the Surma River in Sunamganj early Sunday. Lt. Col. AKM Zakaria Kadir stated that the seized goods included 1,700 Indian sarees, 7,200 cosmetic creams, and 180 kg of cumin seeds.

Press Secretary Shafiqur Alam revealed that Japan is planning significant investment in the Matarbari project. Discussions also included sending 100,000 Bangladeshi workers to Japan each year. Japan’s main investment agency, JETRO, responded positively, and progress was made toward resolving visa-related complications. A substantial portion of the $29 million master plan will be funded by Japan.

The National Consensus Commission is set to begin its second round of dialogue with political parties on Monday at 4:30 PM. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has launched a probe into alleged irregularities in the recruitment process and embezzlement of Tk 150 crore at the mobile financial service ‘Nagad.’ Following a raid at the company’s head office, the ACC stated that Faiz Ahmad Tayyab’s personal aide Atik Morshed and his wife Zakia Sultana Jui may be interrogated. Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested three activists from the Awami League and Jubo League over a sudden flash procession in front of Delta Hospital in the capital's Dholaipar area. The arrested include Khorhshed-ur-Rahman Masum (48), Joint General Secretary of Shyampur AL, Ahsan Kabir Ador (31) and Idris Ali Ishan (22), both members of Kadamtoli Jubo League. A full Appellate Division bench led by Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refaat Ahmed ruled that the decision to administer the oath of office to Ishraq Hossain as Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation falls entirely under the jurisdiction of the Election Commission. A man named Mohabbat Ali (55) was killed and four others injured during a violent clash between two BNP factions in Nakobaria area of Kaliganj upazila, Jhenaidah, on Sunday morning. Locals said the dispute stemmed from a power struggle between Nazrul Islam and Arif Hossain. Nazrul, a former Awami League leader who joined BNP after August 5, was reportedly trying to assert dominance in the union, sparking the confrontation.

BNP Standing Committee Member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain warned that any delay in elections beyond December could open the door to conspiracies. Chief Prosecutor Tazul Islam told the International Crimes Tribunal that the crimes committed by Awami League, Jubo League, Chhatra League, and the 14-party alliance should be considered acts of terrorism. Detailing in an 8,500-page charge sheet across 13 volumes, he outlined cases of enforced disappearances, killings, and torture. He named Sheikh Hasina as the core instigator, along with Obaidul Quader, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Salman F Rahman, and Anisul Huq as part of a “Gang of Four” responsible for orchestrating countrywide atrocities. “This trial is not about revenge,” he said. “It’s about evidence-based justice to prevent the return of fascism in a new Bangladesh.”

A Bangladeshi youth was shot and killed by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) near the Sharifpur border in Kulaura upazila of Moulvibazar on Saturday night. The deceased, identified as Pradeep Baidya, 30, reportedly attempted to cross into India when he was shot on sight. BSF personnel took his body into custody. BGB commander Lt. Col. ASM Zakaria stated that while they heard about the incident from locals, no formal complaint had yet been filed and BSF had not communicated any information.

Supporters of BNP leader Ishraque Hossain once again besieged the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) headquarters, demanding he be sworn in as Mayor. Protesters locked all entrances, halting all municipal services. They claimed the movement had paused only due to public holidays and events marking Ziaur Rahman’s death anniversary. “We will not stop until Ishraque receives his rightful position,” said one demonstrator.
