The High Court has granted bail to Zubaida Rahman, who was sentenced to three years in prison for concealing wealth information and acquiring unexplained assets. Earlier on Tuesday, the court also waived a delay of 587 days in filing an appeal against her sentence. The case was originally filed on September 26, 2007, by the Anti-Corruption Commission against Tarique Rahman, Zubaida Rahman, and her mother, Syeda Iqbal Mand Banu, at Kafrul Police Station in Dhaka.

Police have detained three individuals in connection with the murder of Shahriar Samyo (25), a Dhaka University student from the 2018–19 session and a leader of the student wing of the BNP, who was fatally stabbed with a sharp weapon near Suhrawardy Udyan. The World Health Organization has reported that at least 57 children have died from starvation and malnutrition in Gaza since March 2, following the blockade on humanitarian aid. With 2.1 million residents, Gaza is now at “severe risk of famine.” WHO representative Richard Peeperkorn warned that without immediate access to nutritious food, clean water, and medical services, nearly 71,000 children under five could suffer from acute malnutrition within the next 11 months. Around 17,000 pregnant and breastfeeding women are also at high risk. Peeperkorn urged for the immediate lifting of the blockade to prevent irreversible damage to an entire generation.
