Ashraf Siddiqui Bitu, Assistant Press Secretary to Sheikh Hasina, and former MP Shamima Akhter Khanam have been arrested. Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) apprehended them from Jigatola on Saturday. He argued that banning the party through executive orders is not a long-term solution and may even generate sympathy for the AL. Instead, he called for complete political, economic, and cultural isolation of the party to render it ineffective. Haque also criticized former President Abdul Hamid's departure from the country.

Dr. Zubaida Rahman visited the grave of her brother-in-law Arafat Rahman Koko at Banani Cemetery on Saturday. She recited verses from the Holy Quran and offered prayers. Koko’s wife, Sharmila Rahman Sithi, accompanied her. Arafat Rahman Koko, a sports organizer and son of former President Ziaur Rahman, died of cardiac arrest in Kuala Lumpur on January 24, 2015, leaving behind his wife and two daughters.

Legal adviser Asif Nazrul said that the country urgently needs a Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Referring to writer Farhad Mazhar’s repeated calls, Nazrul stated, “It would have been ideal had such a commission existed since 1972. We want to resolve everything professionally. We will establish a Truth and Reconciliation Commission.”

BNP leader Gayeshwar Chandra Roy stated that banning political parties is not a solution to national problems, which are primarily psychological. Shortly after agreeing to a comprehensive and immediate ceasefire with India, Pakistan's Civil Aviation Authority announced the reopening of its airspace for all types of flights. All airports across the country are now fully operational. Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri confirmed that Pakistan’s Director General of Military Operations contacted his Indian counterpart at 3:35 PM IST. Both sides agreed to halt all forms of military actions—land, air, and sea—starting from 5 PM IST. The ceasefire will be enforced on both sides. Misri also noted that the two military leaders would hold follow-up talks on Monday, the 12th, at noon.

BNP leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi accused the interim government of following in Sheikh Hasina’s footsteps by crafting political narratives. “Law enforcement is raiding the home of Suman, who disappeared 15 years ago, while a murder-accused former president escapes through the airport unnoticed,” he said. Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Ekushey Padak-winning artist Mustafa Zaman Abbasi. In a condolence message, he said Abbasi’s contributions to Bangladeshi music will be forever remembered. “As a multi-talented artist from a legendary musical family, his songs and research will continue to inspire creativity in our cultural sphere,” Yunus stated. Abbasi passed away early Saturday morning at a hospital in Banani.
