Hamas reported that its fighters killed 19 Israeli soldiers in Rafah’s eastern Al-Tannur neighborhood. Seven soldiers were reportedly killed in a bombing near the Omar Ibn Abdul Aziz Mosque. Another 12 were killed when an Israeli engineering unit was ambushed using anti-personnel and anti-armor shells near Al-Fidai junction.

U.S. Vice President JD Vance stated Washington has no intention of engaging in the India-Pakistan conflict. “We may encourage de-escalation but will not enter a war that doesn’t serve our direct interests,” he said, adding that the situation is being closely monitored.

Faria Haque Tina, one of the two accused female students in the murder of Parvez, a Prime Asia University student, has been arrested. The conflict stemmed from a verbal altercation over a social media incident involving students from the University of Scholars. Later that evening, Parvez was attacked by a group of 30–40 people and fatally stabbed.

While transporting Ivy to the DB office in connection with a murder case, attackers threw bricks and explosives at the police convoy near Golachipa intersection around 6:30 AM. Five people, including two police constables, were injured. Authorities confirmed Ivy was unharmed and later produced before court in connection with the Minarul murder case.

Following her arrest, Dr. Ivy claimed police did not present a warrant. “I’ve served Narayanganj for 21 years without harming anyone,” she said. Superintendent of Police Hasanuzzaman stated Ivy faces six cases including murder. "She refused to go at night, but cooperated in the morning when we detained her at her doorstep," he said. Ivy is now being held at the district DB office.

Political activist Hasnat Abdullah announced a massive rally to be held after Jumma prayers at the SAARC Fountain, where a stage is being erected. “This will show who truly demands the Awami League’s ban,” he said. Families of victims from Pilkhana, Shapla Chattar, enforced disappearances, and the July uprising will also join the protest.

Retired Lt. Col. Akbar Kamal has been appointed CEO of the July Memorial Foundation. The father of martyred protester Yamin voiced strong opposition, demanding the role go to a qualified member of a martyr’s family. During the board meeting, his objections were dismissed by the foundation’s treasurer.

At Jamuna, Jamaat-e-Islami leader Shafiqul Islam demanded that all political factions unite by noon to officially ban the Awami League. “The people demanded its ban after the regime fell on August 5, 2024,” he said, citing a history of alleged killings and enforced disappearances from Pilkhana to the July massacre.

According to Reuters, citing U.S. officials, Pakistan used Chinese-made J-10 fighter jets to launch air-to-air missiles that downed at least two Indian aircraft. One of the jets was reportedly a French-made Rafale. India has yet to acknowledge any aircraft losses. Pakistan previously claimed it had destroyed five Indian warplanes, including three Rafales.

Central Shibir leader Sadiq Qayem called for students across Bangladesh to take to the streets. “The Awami League has already been sentenced by the people for its role in mass shootings and atrocities. Nine months after the July uprising, why has this criminal party not been officially banned?” he questioned, urging participation in Jamuna’s mass rally.

Bangladeshi potato farmers are urging the Ministry of Agriculture to revise seed potato pricing, claiming they are forced to sell produce at prices far below production costs. In FY 2023–24, farmers bought foundation seeds from BADC at Tk 48–54 per kg but had to sell the harvested seed potatoes to BADC for only Tk 35–37 per kg, despite open market prices ranging between Tk 70–80. Bound by contract, they couldn't sell elsewhere, leading to significant losses. The same issue has resurfaced in FY 2024–25, prompting renewed calls for price revision.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Palash Saha died by suicide at the RAB-7 headquarters in Chattogram. According to police, he shot himself in the head with his service weapon, reportedly due to family-related stress. As of Thursday, no official case has been filed, but authorities are preparing to register it as an unnatural death. OC Aftab Hossain confirmed the details and stated that the family is currently occupied with funeral arrangements.

During the sit-in at Jamuna, NCP convener Nahid Islam stated that the interim government's first responsibility was to ban the Awami League. “Yet here we are again, demanding the same,” he said, leading chants like “Ban Awami League,” “No place for Awami League in Golden Bengal,” and “Inquilab Zindabad.”

Students from various madrasas have joined ongoing protests in front of the Chief Adviser’s residence at Jamuna, demanding a ban on the Awami League and justice for alleged state crimes. Groups such as NCP, Islami Chhatra Shibir, Inquilab Mancha, Anti-Fascist Coalition, and others have united under the slogan "Ban Awami League." Madrasa students were seen chanting, “Let Shapla’s spirit roar again.”

Dr. Selina Hayat Ivy, the former mayor of Narayanganj, was arrested around 5:45 AM from her residence, "Chunka Kutir" in Deobhog. She faces multiple legal cases. Police had arrived the previous night but were obstructed by her supporters who took to the streets. Ivy told officers, “Tell them I will not go at night. If they want to arrest me, they must do it during the day.” Heavy police presence overnight failed to gain access due to the protest. She was finally detained early in the morning.
