Dhaka Volunteer Wing leader Nazmul Hasan Abhi stated that false propaganda portraying Hindus as a vote bank for the Awami League has been rejected by the people. He emphasized BNP’s inclusive stance, quoting Tarique Rahman’s principle: “Religion is personal, but the state belongs to all.”

Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman criticized the Women’s Reform Commission, calling their proposals contradictory. He questioned the logic of seeking gender equality while proposing quotas for women. He also claimed the commission’s recommendations go against Islamic principles and vowed to resist any attempt to impose them.

The Election Commission (EC) has submitted 12 reform proposals to the Cabinet Division, including the integration of armed forces alongside law enforcement during elections. EC Commissioner Abul Fazl Md. Sanaullah said these proposals are immediately actionable and have been finalized after extensive review.

Rashed Khan, General Secretary of Gono Odhikar Parishad, has filed a written complaint at the International Crimes Tribunal accusing former CTTC ADC Ishtiak Ahmed of physical abuse during detention in 2018. According to Khan, after preliminary treatment at the police hospital, he was taken to Ishtiak’s office where he was kicked in the groin while the officer wore boots. Khan alleges continued verbal and physical abuse, leaving long-lasting trauma for which he never received medical care.

NCP leader Sarjis Alam has stated that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Awami League party are responsible for mass killings and should be banned from politics. He cited various alleged incidents of violence and disappearances carried out under the regime, accusing the government of operating through bloodshed and systemic discrimination. Sarjis called for the prosecution of those he labeled as regime collaborators.

On Tuesday, four Indian Rafale fighter jets, patrolling the Kashmir Line of Control, fled after detecting the presence of Pakistani forces. The Indian aircraft were illegally patrolling the airspace of Jammu and Kashmir when the Pakistan Air Force detected their presence and responded quickly, forcing the jets to retreat. Security sources confirmed that this was part of a coordinated defensive response aimed at deterring any potential attack along the Line of Control.

The Chamber Court of the Appellate Division has suspended the bail granted to Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, spokesperson of the United Sanatani Awakening Alliance of Bangladesh, in a sedition case. Justice Md. Rezaul Haque issued the order Wednesday evening. Earlier in the day, a High Court bench comprising Justices Md. Ataur Rahman and Md. Ali granted him bail. Following that, the state filed an appeal to the Chamber Court seeking a stay on the bail order.

Fayez Ahmed Tayeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor, announced the launch of Citizen Services Bangladesh, a platform designed to bring all government services under one umbrella. Service outlets will be established in every village, ward, and city. From May 1, applications will open for entrepreneurs interested in managing these outlets. Services will include birth registration, NID correction, utility bill payments, and more—aimed at saving citizens time, money, and hassle.

BNP’s Ruhul Kabir Rizvi claimed that this year’s May Day will be observed in a new context following the “fall of fascist and killer Hasina.” He credited the uprising of students, workers, and the public—where scores sacrificed their lives—for hastening her downfall. ICT has issued a rule asking why action should not be taken against Sheikh Hasina for allegedly obstructing judicial proceedings and making threats. Investigators stated that forensic analysis confirmed an audio clip in which Hasina said, “226 cases mean 226 licenses to kill.” She is currently under investigation, along with 144 others, for alleged crimes against humanity, including the July genocide. So far, 23 related cases have been filed with the tribunal.

Char Monai Pir Rezaul Karim issued a strong warning against implementing the proposed Women’s Reform Commission, calling it part of a broader destabilization plot. He said the government lacks public mandate and should not pursue this agenda. Economic Advisor Salehuddin Ahmed stated that Bangladesh will negotiate with the United States over retaliatory tariffs imposed by former President Donald Trump. “We won’t provoke the U.S., but we have 90 days to resolve this issue through dialogue,” he said. He also urged businesses to become more competitive and assured that the upcoming budget would be realistic and implementable.

In the DPL title-deciding match, Mahmudullah Riyad charged at Mohammad Nadeem, who had used the word "fake" while speaking to the manager. Nadeem clarified he never directed the comment at Mahmudullah, but the latter charged at him after hearing it from the dressing room.
