At least 26 tourists were killed in a gun attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, with many others injured. A 2022 Home Ministry order showing his renunciation of Bangladeshi citizenship for Estonian nationality went viral, fueling further controversy. Although officials denied any political influence in his appointment, the pressure mounted rapidly. DNCC had earlier clarified that the position was unpaid and made under the administrator’s legal authority. Facing growing disapproval and online uproar, Dr. Aminul stepped down, bringing the short-lived appointment to an end.

Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus met with Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, mother of the Emir of Qatar and Chairperson of the Qatar Foundation. He earlier attended the opening of the Arthanai Summit in Doha, where he was welcomed by Qatari ministers and dignitaries. Following a court order on March 27 that invalidated the 2020 DSCC election results and named BNP leader Ishraq Hossain as mayor, the Election Commission has written to the Law Ministry for its opinion before issuing an official gazette. The state informed the High Court that key documents related to the 2012 murder of journalist couple Sagar Sarwar and Meherun Runi were destroyed in a fire. However, both the DMP and PBI refuted this, saying the documents were not burnt. The delay in locating them is due to the transfer of many DB officials.
