As a key organizer in the southern region, Hasnat emphasized that various propaganda efforts are being spread abroad, and it is crucial for everyone to be cautious and proactive in countering them. He further asserted that India’s conspiracies persist and urged for a continued struggle against them.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has voiced concern over the rising incidents of violence against women in Bangladesh. He emphasized that while women have made significant contributions to national progress, they continue to face harassment, assault, and even murder in educational institutions and workplaces. He blamed the ruling government for failing to take strict action against perpetrators, leading to increased impunity. The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has published an updated list of “July Warriors,” adding 1,242 new names under the ‘Category G’ classification. The gazette includes their medical case IDs, names, parents’ names, and permanent addresses. Among the newly added individuals, 534 are from the Mymensingh division, and 708 are from the Sylhet division. The previous day, a gazette was issued for 772 injured fighters from Barishal under the same category. The government has classified July uprising victims into categories ‘A,’ ‘B,’ and ‘G’ for different levels of assistance. Earlier, on January 15, a list of 834 martyrs from the uprising was officially published.

A mobile court conducting an eviction drive at “Famous Bricks,” an illegal brick kiln in Dumki, Patuakhali, was attacked on Thursday. According to officials, when the team attempted to demolish the kiln, individuals linked to its owners assaulted three to four members of the administration. Meanwhile, the brick kiln’s owner, Md. Qayum, alleged that officials demanded money before the operation, and upon refusal, proceeded with the demolition.

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized smuggled goods worth Tk 11.3 million that were illegally brought from India, evading customs duty. According to Lieutenant Colonel Md. Nazmul Haque, commander of the 48th BGB Battalion, a raid was conducted early Friday along the Sylhet and Sunamganj border areas. Items seized include a large quantity of sunglasses, sarees, raisins, creams, chocolates, mehndi, razor blades, sugar, hair oil, soap, basmati rice, liquor, and Phensedyl. Authorities have stated that legal actions will be taken in accordance with regulations.

BNP senior leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has stated that if the Election Commission operates properly, the national election could take place in June or July instead of December. Following the U.S. suspension of military aid to Ukraine, European Union leaders are planning an $860 billion increase in defense spending, a move welcomed by Ukraine. Renowned Bangladeshi pop and band music pioneer Azam Khan is set to receive the prestigious Independence Award posthumously, 14 years after his passing. Known for hits like Ore Saleka, Ore Maleka, Rail Liner Oi Bostite, and Alal O Dulal, Khan, whose real name was Mohammad Mahbubul Haque Khan, was also a freedom fighter. Born on February 28, 1950, he passed away on June 5, 2011. Some of his other notable songs include Ami Jare Chaire, Anamika, Obhimani, Papri, and Je Meye Chokhe Dekhena.

In Srimangal, Moulvibazar, a shocking act of revenge resulted in the poisoning of nine cows belonging to a local farmer. The accused, Ramzan Mia (55) and his son Monir (30), allegedly committed the act on Wednesday night after their goat was confined by neighbor Suleman Ahmed (25) for eating crops from his field. According to the complaint, Suleman, who owns a farm with 20 cows, detained Ramzan’s goat in a pen. This enraged Ramzan and his son, leading them to poison the cattle in retaliation.

During Hizb ut-Tahrir’s “March for Khilafah,” a banned organization, a rickshaw puller was seen being beaten by one of its members in front of the police. Later, security forces detained the rickshaw puller from the scene. This incident sparked outrage on Facebook, with citizens demanding his release. In response to the growing pressure, Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan intervened and secured the rickshaw puller’s release from the DB office. Malaysia’s Immigration Department conducted a raid at an entertainment center in Selangor on Wednesday night, detaining 80 undocumented migrants, including Bangladeshis. Selangor’s Immigration Director Khairul Aminus Kamaruddin reported that among those arrested were 75 women and five men, aged between 17 and 45, from Bangladesh, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam. The operation was launched at 10:30 PM following two weeks of intelligence gathering based on public complaints regarding illegal migrants in the area.

The Trump administration has temporarily halted the 25% tariffs imposed on most Canadian and Mexican goods on Thursday. In response, Canada has also delayed its retaliatory tariffs. However, this suspension is set to expire on April 2, after which Trump has threatened to impose counter-tariffs on all global trade partners. A recent Gallup poll reveals that fewer than half of Americans express sympathy for Israel, while 33% sympathize with Palestinians—the highest recorded support for them so far. Among Democrats, 59% show more sympathy toward Palestinians, whereas only 21% favor Israelis. Though traditionally, Americans have leaned more toward Israel in Middle Eastern affairs, this marks the lowest level of support for Israel in Gallup’s 25-year annual tracking survey on world affairs.
