Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch police arrested Md Nazrul Islam, general secretary of the Satkhira district Awami League, from the Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital. He was detained from his home at about 12pm on Monday. The report was published and updated on 27 July 2026.
