Nasiruddin Patwary, chief coordinator of the National Citizens Party (NCP), has called for the reconstitution of the current Election Commission before the upcoming elections. He emphasized the need to amend the law governing the commission’s formation and retain capable members under a new system. Patwary also insisted that the ‘Shapla’ (Water Lily) symbol remains the party’s only choice, vowing to fight politically if denied. The NCP delegation met the Chief Election Commissioner to discuss symbol allocation and expatriate voting, urging removal of the ‘Boat’ symbol from the official list.
