A violent clash erupted between two BNP factions in a border area of Sunamganj over extortion from Indian limestone transporters. The confrontation, lasting from evening until 10 PM, resulted in the death of Mohammad Ali (60), a BNP-affiliated individual, and left at least 20 others injured. The dispute reportedly stemmed from ongoing tensions between local JCD leader Harunur Mahmud and former Jubo Dal leader Hazrat Ali.
