Hefazat-e-Islam has filed two specific charges against those involved in the Shapla Square killings, including senior law enforcement officials and Imran H. Sarker. Nine individuals, including Sheikh Hasina, have been named in the case. Of these, four have been arrested in various cases, while arrest warrants have been issued for five others, including Hasina. A hearing is scheduled for May 12, and the case is currently under investigation. The chief prosecutor stated that this was one of the most significant human rights violations and crimes against humanity in Bangladesh's history, and after careful review, the tribunal has recognized this incident as a crime against humanity, ordering an investigation.
