India’s Border Security Force (BSF) has forcibly sent 16 people into Bangladesh through the Mirgarh border in Panchagarh Sadar and Pedia Ganj in Tetulia. Among them are four Indian nationals. Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) detained the group early Saturday, which includes six Bangladeshi women, two children, and four men. According to Lieutenant Colonel Monirul Islam, commanding officer of Panchagarh-18 BGB, arrangements are being made to return the Indian nationals through a flag meeting, while the Bangladeshis will be handed over to their families.

Eight of the individuals are reportedly from Khulna’s Bagerhat district, while one hails from Sohagipara village in Dobaura upazila.

According to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), the group was attempting to enter Bangladesh with the help of human traffickers after being chased by police in Chennai. Indian police detained them earlier on Thursday in Shivganj before pushing them across the border. BGB personnel detained the group after receiving information about the incident.

However, with the weekend falling on Friday and Saturday, educational institutions will reopen on Sunday, when classes and administrative activities will resume. According to the academic calendar, primary schools will reopen on June 24, secondary schools and technical institutions on June 22, and madrasas on June 26.

British High Commissioner Welcomes Prof. Muhammad Yunus to the UK

President Donald Trump has announced that the long-anticipated trade agreement between Washington and Beijing has been finalized. The deal now awaits final approval from the heads of state of both nations.

According to Trump, under the new agreement, the United States will benefit from a total of 55% tariff concessions, while China will receive 10%. He further stated that China has committed to supplying the U.S. in advance with essential resources, including rare earth minerals and magnets.

In a post on social media, Trump wrote, “China will provide the United States with a full supply of magnets and critical rare minerals on a priority basis. In return, the U.S. will honor its promises to China, including allowing Chinese students access to American universities—something I’ve always supported!”

US-China Trade Deal Finalized, Awaits Presidential Approval: Trump

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has reportedly pushed 70 individuals, believed to be Bangladeshi nationals, across four border points in the Sylhet and Sunamganj districts. Following the push-in, members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), who were patrolling the area, detained the individuals.

The incident occurred early Thursday morning in the border regions of Jaintapur’s Sripur and Minatila, Companiganj’s Kalairag, and Chhatak’s Nowakot Border Outposts (BOPs). Among those detained, 53 are reportedly residents of border areas within the Sylhet district.

At the Sripur BOP in Jaintapur, the BGB detained 17 individuals from two families. Additionally, 23 people from four families were detained at Minatila BOP, and 17 individuals from four families were detained at the Nowakot BOP.

BGB authorities are currently verifying their identities and investigating the circumstances surrounding their entry into the country.

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has pushed back 24 more Bangladeshis through the Chanduria border of Pirganj upazila and the Chapsara border of Bhaturia union in Haripur upazila, Thakurgaon. BSF confiscated their money and belongings before sending them across the border. Later, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained the returnees and initiated legal proceedings after verification. Among them was Afzal Hossain (32), son of Abed Ali from Haripur, Thakurgaon. Expressing his frustration, Afzal said, "We committed no crime. We crossed the border legally in search of work. Now, we are returning empty-handed. Although BGB is treating us humanely, the pain remains."
