Hundreds of teaching job aspirants staged a protest outside the National Press Club in Dhaka on Sunday, accusing the Non-Government Teachers' Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) of deliberately failing thousands of candidates in the latest registration exams.

The protesters, who blocked traffic during their demonstration, claimed that NTRCA unfairly altered evaluation criteria—particularly by including certificate scores in the final assessment for the first time—resulting in 40% of candidates being marked as failed.

To disperse the demonstrators and restore traffic flow, police used water cannons, fired two sound grenades, and resorted to limited baton charges. Several protesters sustained injuries in the clash. The students are demanding immediate issuance of registration certificates for those they believe were unjustly failed.

U.S. lawmakers from both Republican and Democratic parties have raised serious constitutional concerns over former President Donald Trump’s recent decision to authorize military strikes on Iran. Republican Congressman Warren Davidson remarked, “While President Trump’s decision may be justifiable, it is difficult to deem it constitutional.” His fellow Republican, Congressman Thomas Massie, echoed this sentiment, saying, “It is not constitutional.” On the Democratic side, Senator Bernie Sanders denounced Trump’s actions as “grossly unconstitutional,” while Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez stated, “Bombing Iran without congressional approval is clearly an impeachable offense.”

Speaking to reporters, Shah said, “We will divert the water through a canal to Rajasthan. Fearing for their safety amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran, thousands of Afghan refugees are returning home after decades in exile. The UN estimates that over 4 million Afghans live in Iran, many of whom fled war and persecution. One returnee, Nasima Ghaffari, said, “The war has changed everything. Hundreds of teachers from non-MPO educational institutions began a sit-in protest in front of the National Press Club in Dhaka on Saturday, wearing funeral shrouds to press their demand for MPO (Monthly Pay Order) inclusion. The protest, organized by the "Combined Non-MPO Unity Council," follows an earlier 17-day movement in February and March. Hefazat-e-Islam has issued a strongly worded statement condemning Israel and calling for its downfall, labeling it a genocidal occupying force backed by Western powers.

The statement claims that the United States and several European nations, including Germany, have continuously supported Israel’s military aggression and war crimes in the Middle East through billions of dollars in aid and intelligence support.

"Israel's fate is intertwined with the collapse of imperialist powers like the U.S. and its Western allies," the statement reads, warning that the world is heading toward a major global conflict.

Hefazat called on the Muslim world to reject Western consumerism and moral apathy, urging unity in preparing for what it describes as an inevitable great war. The organization also accused Western countries of hypocritical humanitarian stances and reiterated its demand for the total destruction of Israel.

The Rajshahi Education Board canceled the upcoming HSC History second paper after question papers were found scattered and damaged in a police station trunk. An accused detainee broke the trunk’s seal, damaging 15 papers. Following the incident, two police officers were withdrawn, and two investigation committees were formed. The exam will now be conducted with new question papers across eight districts. The board chairman will visit the site for further assessment.

A joint assessment by the U.S.-based Institute for the Study of War and Critical Threats Project reveals that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has moved key nuclear materials to undisclosed, secure locations to protect them from potential Israeli strikes. Analysts suggest this could be a strategic move to apply diplomatic pressure and steer Western powers toward negotiations instead of war. Iran continues to maintain that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes.
