Local Awami League leaders and activists in Moulvibazar forcefully freed Awami League President Haji Ahmad Uddin from police custody. Following the incident, police conducted a raid on Monday morning and arrested four individuals. According to reports, on Sunday at 7 PM, members of Sherpur police outpost detained Haji Ahmad Uddin from Katarai Bazaar. However, when officers attempted to place him on a motorcycle, local Awami League leaders engaged in a scuffle with the police and managed to take him away.

Police have arrested five robbers, including Youth League leader Raifel Mohiuddin (38), while they were attempting to escape by river after committing a robbery. The arrests took place with the seizure of two pistols, 37 rounds of ammunition, magazines, and several sharp weapons, according to Nazirpur River Police. The gang was fleeing in two trawlers, transporting a stolen excavator (beko) and a pontoon. Authorities revealed that the stolen equipment had been stored at Noor Mohammad Mollah’s brick kiln in Madaripur since the robbery on March 8. On Sunday night, around 20-22 robbers loaded the excavator onto the pontoon and attempted to escape from Kalkini, Madaripur, toward Babuganj. Acting on a tip-off, police launched an operation on the Arial Khan River, leading to the arrests.

Mizanur Rahman Mizan, former acting principal and vice-president of the Union JSD, forcibly occupied the principal’s chair at Veramara Adarsha Degree College. On Sunday morning, Mizan and his supporters entered the principal’s office and removed Principal Shamsuzzaman Ranzu from his seat. The incident has sparked controversy and unrest among faculty and students.

Detectives in Patuakhali have arrested two individuals, Shahadat (22) and Mahfuz (21), for masterminding an arson attack on content creator Kafir’s residence. The suspects, identified as members of the banned Student League, allegedly set fire to the house while its occupants were asleep. Family members escaped through the back door and alerted the fire department, which managed to extinguish the blaze.

BNP leader Abdus Salam Pintu has alleged that after 17 years of public struggle, Sheikh Hasina was forced to flee to India, having looted Bangladesh’s resources to support a neighboring country. "I never bowed to injustice. I never participated in the conspiracy to sell Bangladesh to India," he declared. Pintu emphasized that people from all walks of life, including rickshaw pullers and laborers, have sacrificed their lives for democracy.

Following a petition from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), a court has ordered the seizure of the tax records of former minister Tajul Islam and his wife, Fauzia Islam. Tajul is accused of illegally acquiring assets worth BDT 780.2 million through misuse of power and financial irregularities. Similarly, Fauzia is alleged to have amassed BDT 690.02 million through undisclosed sources.

Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) has declared that any student found engaged in political activities will face permanent expulsion. According to an official statement, this decision was made in the university syndicate’s emergency meetings, banning all forms of political participation on campus. Students have been warned against involvement in any political organization.

Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam has revealed that investigations by BFIU and a joint task force have uncovered assets linked to Sheikh Hasina in the United States, United Kingdom, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and the Cayman Islands. Additionally, a Russian "slush fund" was identified in a Malaysian bank. Authorities discovered 124 bank accounts holding approximately BDT 63.514 billion, a 60-katha plot worth BDT 18 million under RAJUK, and 10% ownership of land valued at BDT 88.5 million, alongside eight apartments. The BFIU has submitted two intelligence reports to the Anti-Corruption Commission and frozen 11 bank accounts containing BDT 51.5 million.

NCP Convener Nahid Islam has stated, "I urge political parties not to engage in delaying justice and reforms. Instead, demonstrate consensus on these issues, and we will ensure elections for you." He called on the government to swiftly outline a clear roadmap for visible judicial and reform measures. "We will hold the government accountable for every aspect of the reforms. If political parties are in such a hurry for elections, they must be prepared to answer the public when seeking votes," he added.

Addressing Chief Adviser Dr. Yunus, opposition leader Shamsuzzaman Dudu criticized the government, citing rising incidents of child abuse and street violence.

He questioned, “Was a mass uprising carried out for this? If you can’t handle it, step down.”

Dudu alleged that since taking office, Dr. Yunus has swiftly withdrawn legal cases against himself. “No mass movement led to his cases; I won’t go into why they were filed. But they were withdrawn quickly,” he claimed.

Regarding former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he argued, “Her trial could have been completed within six months. Young people are saying there will be no election before justice is served. If trials don’t happen, does that mean elections won’t happen either?”

He asserted that a one-year trial process could be concluded in just three months.

A Jashore court on Monday acquitted BNP’s acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, in a treason case. The case accused him of making derogatory and defamatory remarks against Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, which were deemed seditious.

Following a court order, Jashore Kotwali police investigated the matter and later filed a charge sheet against Tarique Rahman. However, after a nine-year-long legal battle, the court found no substantial evidence to prove the allegations, leading to his acquittal.

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has approved charge sheets against Sheikh Hasina and her family members in six cases related to land fraud in the eastern region. On Monday, a three-member ACC panel, led by Chairman Abdul Momen, authorized the charge sheets for submission to the court. This marks the first corruption case against Sheikh Hasina’s family members since their removal from power seven months ago. The charge sheet also includes former State Minister for Housing and Public Works Sharif Ahmed and Hasina’s former APS Mohammad Salauddin.

BNP leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has claimed that the interim government takes BNP’s allegations personally. Speaking at a Women’s Party protest, Rizvi alleged that the government, in some cases, seeks revenge. He also accused the administration of failing to control rising sexual violence, stating, "Women have been victims of oppression since Sheikh Hasina’s tenure. Now that Chhatra League and Jubo League are not active, who is responsible for these crimes?" Rizvi criticized students’ involvement in administrative affairs instead of focusing on education.

Chhatra Dal General Secretary Nasir Uddin has stated that the student wing of BNP has no significant sources of income. "If there is no income, then the question of financial sources is not very relevant," he said in response to recent debates between Chhatra Dal and Chhatra Shibir over funding sources. He mentioned that Chhatra Dal’s activities are supported by former leaders, businesspersons, and expatriates. He also emphasized that Chhatra Dal is a BNP-affiliated organization and receives some financial participation from BNP for joint programs.
