Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed has been arrested in Dubai with the assistance of Interpol, according to the Bangladesh Police Headquarters. Police in Maharashtra’s Washim district recovered the bodies of four members of a single family in Tivli village under Malegaon taluka. An arson attack was carried out at the July Memorial in Noakhali, built to honor those killed in the July uprising. A mobile court in Bhangura, Pabna, sentenced a 32-year-old man named Dablue to one year of imprisonment and a fine of 500 taka for drug use. An Indian smuggler was injured by Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) gunfire at the Latu border area of Barlekha upazila in Moulvibazar. India has returned the body of Mujibur Rahman Mujib, a 26-year-old Bangladeshi man who was shot dead by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) near the Dattagram border in Kulaura, Moulvibazar. Following the incident, BSF and Indian police recovered the body and took it to the morgue of Unakoti Hospital in India. Mujib’s family members said he had gone to the Manu River to fish when the shooting occurred.

Bangladesh national team spinner Nayeem Hasan was detained and harassed in Chattogram following a late-night police operation based on a WhatsApp message. The message, sent at 1:28 a.m. by a sergeant of a special agency’s Khulshi zone, claimed that a specific CNG auto-rickshaw was being used for gold smuggling.
