Reacting to a letter from British MP Tulip Siddiq and her lawyer alleging interference in UK politics by Bangladesh's Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Chairman Abdul Momen said, “They are belittling both themselves and the UK by suggesting that a legal case could collapse British politics.” He reiterated that the ACC is not politically motivated and said legal matters can’t be settled through letters. “The case is in court — Tulip must appear and face it. She is a Bangladeshi citizen and must comply with local laws,” Momen stated.

Despite the ban on Awami League and its student wing, Chhatra League, rallies and processions continue in various areas. In response, Home Affairs Adviser Jahangir Alam commented, “Yesterday was the Awami League’s founding anniversary, but as expected, they couldn’t gather a large crowd. The party is gradually becoming inactive.” He emphasized that their current focus is preparing for the upcoming election, but the Election Commission will determine the final schedule. Discussions have been held with security forces on maintaining law and order during the election period.

The National University has issued a directive changing the names of 57 government colleges and institutions under its jurisdiction. The new names exclude references to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s family members and leaders of the ruling Awami League. The decision follows a May 28 Ministry of Education order and a February 9, 2025 directive from the Cabinet Division.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has said both Iran and Israel have violated the ceasefire he had declared. “I’m not sure if they did it deliberately, but I didn’t like Israel’s operation this morning,” he said. Trump added that he is exploring options to halt the conflict. “Iran will never be allowed to rebuild its nuclear capability,” he added, noting his dissatisfaction with both nations’ actions.

Iran has reportedly arrested six individuals accused of spying for Israeli intelligence agency Mossad in the Hamadan province. According to Iran's Mehr News Agency, the suspects were identified and detained in Razan, Nahavand, and Hamadan cities. Authorities claim the group attempted to destabilize the country and damage Iran’s image by operating in cyberspace and coordinating with hostile agents. Iranian intelligence thwarted their efforts through “timely and accurate operations.” Previously, Iran had arrested 54 others linked to Mossad.

U.S. President Donald Trump has urged Israel to halt airstrikes, warning, "Israel, no more bombs. This would be a major breach of agreement. Call your pilots back immediately!" White House Press Secretary also reiterated that the United States does not want war and would consider any further military action against Iran as an “unnecessary provocation.” Meanwhile, Tel Aviv has accused Iran of launching missile attacks after a ceasefire, directing the IDF to retaliate. Iran has denied carrying out any such attacks.

Iran has strongly denied launching any missiles after the ceasefire, calling Israel’s claims "baseless and fabricated." Tehran insisted it had honored the ceasefire and accused Israel of making false accusations to justify renewed military aggression.

Effective July 1, the government will increase special allowances for public servants and pensioners. According to a revised finance ministry notification, active government employees will now receive at least BDT 1,500 per month, up from BDT 1,000, while pensioners will receive a minimum of BDT 750 instead of BDT 500.

Pensioners receiving BDT 17,389 or more per month will get a 10% allowance, while those earning below that amount will receive 15%.

The government has extended the tenure of the commission investigating enforced disappearances until December 31, 2025. The new term will come into effect on July 1.

A gazette notification, signed by the Cabinet Secretary under the authority of the President, stated the extension was made under Section 3 of the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1956. The commission is tasked with tracing individuals allegedly disappeared by law enforcement agencies.

The NBR Reform Unity Council has declared a full shutdown of all tax zones, VAT offices, and customs stations starting this Saturday if recent transfer orders of officials are not revoked and the chairman is not removed.

The investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal has found evidence linking former MP Saiful Islam, the then Dhaka district police superintendent, and 14 others to the 2024 Ashulia massacre, which involved the murder and burning of six individuals.

Additionally, Abdullah Al-Mamun appeared before court for another crimes against humanity case, while Ziaul Ahsan was produced in connection with an enforced disappearance case. Sources indicate legal representation may be arranged for fugitives Sheikh Hasina and Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.

The International Crimes Tribunal has scheduled July 1 for the hearing on the formation of charges against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, and Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun in a case related to crimes against humanity committed during the July-August massacres.

Earlier, on June 17, the tribunal issued summons directing Sheikh Hasina and Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal to appear in court in connection with the case.

Israel has reopened its airspace following a temporary closure triggered by a series of Iranian missile attacks on Monday night.
The airspace was shut down as a precautionary measure but reopened after the ceasefire announcement.
On Tuesday, foreign passengers rushed to airports, with rescue flights departing for destinations such as Australia.

Israel has formally accepted former U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposed ceasefire with Iran.
In a statement released Tuesday, Israeli authorities said:

“Any violation of this ceasefire will be met with a strong response.”
The statement also claimed Israel had delivered significant blows to Iran’s military leadership and destroyed multiple strategic targets within central Tehran over the past 24 hours. Israel also thanked Trump for his mediation efforts.
